Finally i made a patch for Zebra: the infamous DX7 E-Piano 1.

Here you can check the Original (iron) Dx7 : with a bit of much
velocity. I had to choose between the dx7 keyboard or my Roland
A90. From the A90 is a bit overdose the Dx velo, but if i would
play the dx keyboard then the FM7 and the Zebra would be too flat. So i scale it down just under 100 the hi velocity notes for the first track.
Still is a bit harder.

All of the 3 track is totally dry and mono. (like the Dx7 was)

The DX7 keyboard only goes to a velocity of 100 instead of 127 by the way. I guess that's the problem here.
I have no idea what exactly Yamaha thought when they implemented it like that.

Just a guess, but when Yamaha built the DX7, MIDI was just starting. The reason we now have more or less established the interval of values between 000 and 127 (128 values) has to do with the 7-bit definition of the MIDI messages. Before MIDI, it was very common that synths had values between 00 and 99, like the DX7.

I wrote about my dilemma about this velocity differences in my first post. Somwhere even it was a velocity algorithm for that (maybe in Fm7?),
so you can use other keyboards to drive the DX.

So my fast solution to cut down velocity over 100 to under 100,
naturally was a little misleading in the audio demo.

The original has a much softer tone on the Dx keyboard and i m
happy that my preset is giving also that kind of soft mood.
I put there a little added chorus (by Modwheel) it's very playable Zebra DX.
If anyone willing to tweak the responses more near:
very welcome.
