It's great to hear that new things are coming up BUT...

am I asking too much if I expect those new plugins to be sold at discounted prices for existing Ace and Diva customers?

Look, I make 95% of my basic tracks with those softsynths because they are simply best ones money can buy :D
I'm fairly sure we'll have introduction offers. We always do for new plugins.

The Diva update with Seq/DigitalOsc/Uhbie will be free.

I think Satin will settle in the 129$ ballpark, intro offer probably 89$ - somewhere below its main competitors, not because it's worse but because we can (no distribution cost, no iLok fees whatsoever). Yet it's alltogether a full man-year of work, hence we can't be cheap.

Bazille being a bit "niche" is going to be 149$, intro at 99$.

We might start a general discount for good customers at that point. I've meant to establish this for a while, maybe shop vouchers or something.

Can't I just buy them now :-)

There are various pre-equalisation and post-equalisation curves to choose from as well as various noise reduction techniques and a choice of tape speed, plus a few head/gain adjustments. The sound of tape ranges from subtle to drastic. The adjustable noise level is irresistable 8)

That sounds great. I love the GUI. It looks extremely flexible. Will there be any tube saturation algorithms included?

Regarding Bazille, I remembered hearing/reading that current owners of ACE would get an even bigger discount. Is that true or am I just having a stroke? :)

Regardless, these plugins look amazing.

Fingers crossed. I imagine that you have a better chance of winning in your category than we do in ours. Though, it's an honor just to be nominated. :)

The render of Bazille looks very good. I'm having a tough time imagining what it will look like when "flattened".

Actually, I am betting on you too
When I compare Panorama wirh the competiton, I think it will win.

I seem to remember Ace owners would get the price of Ace off the price of Brazil? Or was that Berlin modular?

If I remember well, ACE price would be discounted on the price of Berlin Modular, which would include Lush, ACE Pro and Bazille. But, as Urs explained recently, Berlin Modular is no more, and ACE will evolve on it's own to ACE Pro (or Berlin Modular, whatever it will be called) with interchangeable modules, and more modules, in a kind of software eurorack (this is what I recall, at least).

Here is the last update on the plans regarding Berlin Modular, in Urs own words:
Urs wrote:Here's a quick run down of Berlin Modular's conceptual history:

Part 1: The original plan, long time before this thread:

Berlin Modular was going to be a modular synth with a fixed set of modules (like ACE but twice as much stuff). The user interface would allow to swap the whole engine for different "flavours" such as Moogish or Korgish.

Part 2: Over the years, and when this thread first was conceived:

In an experiment I created an audio rate modular FM/PD oscillator and stuffed it into a "little" synth frame - Bazille! Taking the Bazille experience into account Berlin Modular changed conceptually. Instead of doing different flavours within one plugin, we'd do 3 distinct synths with different capabilities. Before we get there, we release a smaller version of the classical subtractive modular. That's ACE. The price of ACE would be fully deductable from the final Berlin Modular package. As ACE is cpu hungry and a bit of bait, we'll make it really affordable.

Part 3: More years came about, ACE turned out to be a solid product, we got other issues to deal with, things were resting but Bazille gained a strong following:

Based on experience and user feedback with Bazille, ACE and now Diva, yet another concept gained recognition ad u-he headquarters. Instead of doing 3 different synths with different capabilities or 1 synth with 3 different flavours, Berlin Modular would become a modular synth with a fixed number of modules, but the modules could be swapped out to be *anything*. So Berlin Modular would become a conceptual marriage of Diva (swap individual flavours of modules, or even type of module as seen in Diva's fx section) with modular style patching like ACE & Bazille. It would be like a virtual Eurorack modular where you can construct your own synth out of a number of available types of modules. We envision 8-10 types of modules and 8 free slots in the plugin.

In the meantime, just like ACE, we would release Bazille as its own product and make its price (or part thereof) deductible towards Berlin Modular - if ever finished

I just want that Uhnit (drum machine) will finally be out... you can have me money, like, from NOW :tu:

Can't wait for this!
What synth is the new DIVA module based on?

Roland JP8000, if I recall correctly.

Based on the description from Urs earlier in the thread:
Urs wrote:Most notably:

- TriangleMod: Does a foldback-distorted triangle wave combined with a symmetry-warp function
- SuperSaw: Does a sawtooth with 6 additional sawtooth mixed in, ad variable detune
- Feedback: Does a sawtooth with distorted feedback at variable (tuned) delay and gain
- Noise: Does noise with adjustable bandpass filtering and cutoff
- PWM: Does PWM with an invented-by-u-he pseudo-resonance control
- plus another sawtooth and triangle waveform

Both oscillators can interact by Ringmodulation, Sync and Crossmodulation
It sounds quite like the oscillator section of a very popular 90's Japanese synth. I think there's an 8000 in the name somewhere. ;)

Awwwwwwwwww maaaaaaaaan jp 8000 the jp 8000 I was just hoping for that its the jesus of super saw I need a tissue

What happens when you sync the supersaw?! In most synths the waveform kinda collapses into one saw, because syncing kills the pitch offset between the saws (and converts it into a negligable timbral offset). But I've been waiting for a synth that will continue to animate it's supersaw while you can sync it.

Looking forwards to experimenting with how sync interacts with the other waveforms, too, especially the feedback waveform. I bet that can get real freaky easily :)

Will the "Uhbie" filter have any reSEMblance to a certain hardware synth? ;)
