Maschine4Bitwig Studio, MK2, MikroMK2 and MK1

It is really great to play with in its current state already! Love it!
Have to dig into the scripts to see how i might modify a few minor things for me personally, like device mode being in macro control mode when entering it by default instead the first parameter page, because i use it more often, adding a device on/off button to the macro page.
For my workflow i guess i'll try to restructure the track mode a bit, too, removing the crossfader parameter to get one more send in and adding a rec arm to the F-buttons, when not using auto arm in the app for audio tracks...

Don, this isn't the case, you must press elect to get out of Macro and back into DeviceMode.

DeviceMode with parameter page 1 is the default. I am going to think about how to make some of these modes more temporary.

One less thing for you to hack.

* Added [F3] In TrackMode, toggles record arm for the current track.

Also, I might axe the crossfader as well in track mode since we already have a CrossFader mode, so that is redundent and would allow 4 sends.

BTW, You are using the MK1, can you use it? Or is the D key always crashing it, really the scripts should just work together because its just MIDI messages and I have them all parallel.


PS You are the first to say you are trying the MK1, there are things that might now work since I haven't mapped some of the latest jogwheel etc. stuff to it.

Yes, I have the MK1 but I am not have english.

And yes - where is SHIFT on MK1?

PS: "AUTO WRITE" must be gate. And when press (hold) MUTE or SOLO there is something strange. Specifically with LED.

I updated the whole MK1 template to gates, should work fine.

I also made the first knob the jog wheel MIDI 80.

Wow, I didn't notice the MK1 does not have an ENTER button. I have put it on the A group button for now.

Dom, this script is still really raw, I am up for any changes. i have only really been working on this about 5 days, so I haven't thought everything out, just trying to test the features not really into the usability testing yet.

Amazing, the whole work for the push scripts really pays off now!

Please, list out any features or changes in the GIT issues if you have time. Odds are my workflow is close to yours and if not, i could always add options in the Controller config in Bitwig.

Some things are just taste sometimes, but i'll be more than happy to add my suggestions to the git issues, as it is personally my favourite controller weapon.

The rec arm button definitely was going in Track Mode next to mute/solo, i just started implementing the Function buttons so i probably have missed a lto.

Well 5 days I have been working on the implementation but longer as far as getting 4 controllers to work off one code base, that was a feat, lots of abstraction.

I added the rec arm [F3] and going to axe the crossfader tomorrow and add the send.

I repeat, I do not have this controller so I don't know if this stuff is working right.

If you can post problems, I can fix them but I am running blind with the MK1. Like I said though, most everything should "just work" since it's MIDI and I have abstracted all the weirdness into lumps that all do the same thing for the 4 controllers.

I don't think i have set this up for any of the Maschines to be honest, I need to research this.

Hehe, yes, that's what i meant, current default is the first parameter page, but i would change it to macros being the default.

Ok removed crossfader and added the send.

I will do the macro feature tomorrow since i would totally use it but requires some moving around.

- Can't select second row root keys in "scale mod". (Maybe just i don't know)
- "Volume" (Param 3) not work in Track Mod (Pan is ok)

Ah, just tried it, back to the "select" glitch in device mode:

You enter device mode, current state is parameter page one.
If you hit select and keep it pressed, it brings up the select screen (pages, macro, disable)
In this state you can't use < and > or the jog dial to browse parameter pages, as the select screen is active.
If you now press select again and hold it, you're back to the parameter page and can browse.
Next select press and you're in the select screen again, so it alternates between the screen and being able to browser the parameter pages...

If that was explained clearly enough, it is rather late

In device mode, hit select - it should bring up the select screen and then hit F5 for "macro".

Use the [SHIFT + F button], this feels hack and i am figuring out a more intuitive way.

I will probably just toggle them, little bit of logic but it will be obvious.

C-major chromatic scale and plain scale layout might be another one for the defaults, so that it just starts up like a plain dumb keyboard...
