Upgrade pricing is a bit steep, even allowing for the 20% discount. Some nice updates but it's kinda telling that the first things they show as a flagship feature of a DAW in the video are a synth and FX. I see it as a good update though with some useful additions and improvements (multi-clip MIDI edit was long overdue) but would think a €100 - €150 or so more appropriate as upgrade price. I'd rather have the Wavetable synth and FX as optional extras.

Tom Cosm does an overview here : http://cdm.link/2017/11/ableton-live-10 ... whats-new/

You are not only getting this updates, with 9 we goth 9.5 for free. 4 years of updates for 200 doesn't seem that steep ( if it remains the way it has been the last two versions).

Many other DAWs are on anual updates cycles (cubase, reason, bitwig, protools), I think only logic has long cycles with the small ones being free.

As a Push owner, it would be nice to get an additional discount though.

Slow development shouldn’t really be a consideration in terms of updating, nor a factor in the price.
What matters is whether the new features are worth it *to you*, and that is all.

Just last week I sold my Novation Launchpad Mini with a Live 9 Lite key, damn... I can't test the beta now.

According to the CM first look video, you can’t import your own wavetables in the new wavetable synth. That sucks. Whose idea is that?
(Probably their way of selling expansion packs, grumble grumble)

But dang, that synth looks sexy.

Pretty sure it's not. That wouldn't be fair to those who have 9 Suite already and have to pay EUR199 for the upgrade to 10.

None of those is in. What's more disappointing, multi-clip editing is only for MIDI, whereas in Bitwig you can also do that with audio, which is a great workaround for comping.

That has just killed one of the biggest new features for me!
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Wow, i'm amazed Ableton have neglected these two very basic user needs when they charge way more than its competitors that offer good MPE and comping functionality.

Maybe it's time to switch to Bitwig or Logic.

Can anybody confirm that, if it possible edit multiple fades at once, or they just skipped that ?

Definitely can’t import Wavetables yet. I tried to and asked the guys at the demo today.

Its true, the incentive here is for standard 9 users to upgrade to the suite with 10 for free.
Of course, if anyone seriously has no interest in the suite, theres no reason to upgrade now.
They can just wait to pay for standard 9-10. If someone is interested in the suite,
get it now or pay twice as much later.

Regarding being fair to the suite owners, what else can they do... However you look at it,
your cost from 9-10 will still be less.
