chk071 wrote: Mon Jul 06, 2020 3:52 pm I agree that $249 is kind of nuts for such a synth. I'm not sure what we're discussing about here though. Most if not all people know how PA runs their pricing schemes.
Right, so it makes sense that we’re all talking about how we’re scratching our heads about why they still do it.
Well... you may well do that while PA and others are doing really well with that kind of pricing scheme. :)

How well are you doing with your plugin company?
Please provide the Plugin Alliance spreadsheets so I can look them over. Just to make sure you can back up your assertion that a company that has to discount it's plugins 90% is "doing really well".

In other words you really don't know....none of us really know.

Oh, there is no doubt that PA is doing well, the question is if the developers delivering the content are doing well! For PA there is not too much risk in that business model...

Knifonium was released:
https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/prod ... onium.html

Intro price of 199.99$ and full price of 299$ which both are INSANELY high!!!

I just installed and activated the 14 days trial version (with the dedicated installer) and will test it ASAP.
No matter how good it might be i am 100% sure i will not buy it for that insance intro price.

yeah gonna wait 6 to 12 months as expected

99$ if you have another synth from them.
49$ with my monthly voucher.
A third voucher (survey eg) doesn't work, what a pity.
I'm temped anyway...

gui looks very fiddly imo.... reminds me of poly ana....

You can say what you want about the quality of the plugins but PA’s customer loyalty is second to none... Knifonium down to $99 because I own another one of their synths plus my $50 voucher is a real solid number.
I do feel that the intro price should be the regular price, which is where most other premium synth developers prices are. $299 is a bit steep when I think that Spectrasonics Keyscape is only a couple of hundred bucks more expensive and that’s got a mass of unbelievably great content.

For me, it would be $75 with the survey voucher. Not that I am jumping on this right now, but I consider this as a generous offer by them considering many would have got Thorn and Lion for as low as $15. $75/$49 is IMHO a great price for anyone who wants it now. At $25, we are talking of a bargain.

At 75 let alone 49 I wouldn't even hesitate.
I bought about a dozen plugins (but no synths) from them over a span of few years, so my price is still well over 200 even with a 25$ monthly voucher :drunk:
I'll have to wait :harp:

There is as much risk for PA as for the developers who chose to join PA.

Most of the time after a 14 day trial I no longer want to buy things anyway and some other new shiny thing has come out to distract me....
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!
