So with all of this in mind, jules can you post to say when its coming out? Also we would like a detailed list of features that we can and will expect. We bought your product, so pay us back. Now.
I don't agree with this line of thinking at all.

Firstly, Jules doesn't owe you anything. He put out a good product that we decided was useful for our needs, and we each decided to buy it. That's it.

Secondly, Jules and Mackie are both well aware that when a software company puts out feature lists and expected ship dates for unfinished software too soon, the dates end up changing and often the feature list does as well. Then we can all look forward to more long threads with people bitching about it.

I'm pretty content here waiting for T2, and I'm looking forward to it like everyone else. It will get here when it gets here. If you are that upset about it, maybe you should move on and try something else.

The only thing I would change about the present situation (if I could, that is) is that someone from Mackie would be more involved in this forum. We've gone from exceptional support from Jules to nearly zero from Mackie. Other than that, everything seems pretty fine to me.

Considering all the :x that went down with the Mac version being released as a beta I don't blame them holding out (and that is not meant as a shot at the Mac users out there). If you remember it was released early as a BETA, but it wasn't long before people were screaming for things that anoyed them to be fixed right away. Then the other half of the forum started feeling neglected and cried for an Aux Send fix (remember life before Rack Filters  ).

The point is Tracktion is now past the point where most users are happy to beta test a buggy version until Jules fixes it. There are enough people using T now that they expect a fully functioning version everytime and complain when something isn't quite right.

Yes it would be nice to see a list of what is being fixed/added but I really don't think it's worth the trouble to Jules.

Keep quiet and drop T2 like a bomb I say :D
Leave everyone including the competition :-o  :x

No. He can't. You are assuming he even knows himself when Tracktion is going to be ready; if it is still under development then any date is little more than a guess.

Let's just pretend though that Tracktion is ready to roll. The only people who know how long it would take Mackie to get a finised T2 boxed, tested, documented, and ready to be released, is Mackie. So if they aint telling, you're out of luck.

Of course, even if Mackie do have a good idea for the time to ship for T2, they can't speak for their distribution channel, who also will need time to get a roll out together.

So in short, no-one is going to say, 'cos no-one knows for sure. And you can bet your last dollar, if they give a date, and then have to slip, even for perfectly good reasons, a thread just like this one will spring up bitching about how we were "promised" T2 by this date. And then another one, and then another one, and then ...

Why are you bitching at Jules anyway? Pre-release announcements are the domain of Mackie. I doubt Jules is even allowed to disclose the feature list, and even if he is, it doesn't make sense for him to piss Mackie off by doing so does it? Mackie say they don't do pre-release announcements. That means, no feature list, and no release date until it is done.

So, just to recap: No pre-release announcements.
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

regarding the views of this thread (about 3000+) i bet there are more people here hoping for an update info in this thread than people who accept that there are no information at all ;)

You know, I had been looking at Tracktion for a long time. There were only two simple features I wanted before buying it. The two features (maybe version 2?) were never implemented, but more importantly, Mackie bought Tracktion and Jules fell off the planet.

I see lists and lists of feature requests that would make a team of full-time programmers cry, but haven't seen Jules around here for ages. This is a bad move by Mackie. A lot of what made Tracktion what it is, is the community and the developer's involvement in it. With that gone, well, there's not much incentive to buy it anymore.

We will see with Version 2 - if there is a Version 2. I'm sure it will kick ass and maybe I'll finally have an excuse to buy it.

You know Mod, I've developed a little scheme to question the rampant spread of the already absurd levels of American cultural imperialism in Australian language..when someone uses a blatant Americanism such as "It's all good!", i respond with another, say "24/7?". It's amazing, but only about 5% of people acknowledge the response "Um,....what do you mean?", the rest have a microsecond puzzled expression and then carry on as if nothing were said..one of those moment like when aunt Berryl farts at Sunday lunch and everyone pretends not to notice...

...so I'm following this thread for the subtextual Groundhog Day thread...thanks piaz...keep 'em coming..

Have you seen 'The Groundhog Day After Tomorrow' - you know the one where Bill Murray wakes up everyday and saves his son from the end of the world as we know it.

It's not very funny.

ps Hi jules, one day I'm gonna get the time to read all about this JUCE thing!!!!

And T1 is a great audio editing program - I'm just about to do the cleaning up/mastering of my latest studio recording on it - rubbing my hands with glee!!!

Who needs an excuse?
...and so it goes (Kurt Vonnegut)

...maybe it's the Aussie vernacular, maybe it's just me! I seem to have that effect around here :)

So what you mean is "It's all good, all the time" ?

Post

Well...no...it's more that it's quite patently NOT good ALL the time...and 24/7 is so obviously an Americanism it's designed to make people stop and think...another response could be "Rwanda?" or "World Trade Centre?" or "Thalidamide Poisoning?"

am i making myself unclear? :?

Six :)

now you've got me questioning the origin of 'it's all good'

funny joke though
