This is great to hear! As an owner of Aether I would very much love to get a VST3 and/or CLAP version! The only thing I'd even care about is resizable UI (multi-touch friendly if possible e.g. Juce plugins). Very generous of you to offer 2.0 to existing customers!2ca wrote: Wed Sep 07, 2022 2:32 pm Hello guys,
I'm surprized to see this topic resurrected again here. I thought nobody is more interested in discussing this stuff.
I have had enough of discouragement from users here - Peopl took it as that two founders could not come to an agreement.
That's not quite the case. I tried to present all the necessary info in here and other forums but almost everywhere (except kvr, maybe because they remember me from SpinAudio times) my posts where removed/banned/blocked. maybe because I'm russian?
And now what?
Mr. Souter boldly promised in march that he would support the products. Where is this support? He even did not dare
to make any clearification post, neither he let users know about the situation.
The web shop now requires some log-in. So effectively he collected as much money as he could and ran away. Very pro behavour indeed. No info from him here and in other forums.
How on earth he could have provide support if I'm the author of more than 90% of all the code and he is not a coder
and could not even compile anything without external help?
The code base is extremely complicated! I've spent 17 years of very hard coding work to develop it and yet it took
Mr. Souter a day to assign it all to him (along with my personal money).
Anyway,
I'm working on Aether 2.0 (preset-compaible with AE 1.6) which would be released under different name and under different brand. All 2CAudio users will get it for free. and yes VST3, CLAP, AUv3, M1 native-vectorized code and all the goodies.
Aether was reseacrhed and developed by me prior to 2CAudio. Other 2CAudio products contain Andrew's IP in various
proportions and thus I cannot release them. Unlike Mr. Souter I respect other people's intellectual property.
Technically I of course can support other products as well but legally I cannot.
I'm also working on open programmable modular synth that runs completely on GPU.
If anyone has suggestions about Aether 2.0 and/or ask for betatest, want to support or blame Denis feel free to email me at mdx1358[at]fastmail.com

Yes I would be able to verify by serial code and other data if in doubt.fuse wrote: Wed Sep 07, 2022 2:51 pm Hi Denis, how do You know, that I'm a 2CAudio user? Do You have access to all registrations?

Why don't you sue him, if you think you're in the right? What's with this notorious publicly washing the dirty laundry, and trusting everyone believes what you say just because you say so? It makes you look bad, and it makes your business look bad. I'd never spend a cent on your business when you behave like that. Ridiculous attitude.2ca wrote: Wed Sep 07, 2022 2:32 pm Hello guys,

Everything is better than publicly throwing shit at someone on internet forums, or via emails, trusting that everyone believes every single word you say.
Is that seriously someone you'd like to do business with/throw your money at? Wow.
I won't spend a cent with someone who feels like he has to trash his former business associates, regardless of who's in the right, which I won't be able to know ever anyway.

Seems like the public stuff was a last resort to me. But, I don't need to believe one side or another. One side isn't updating plugins, and wants to charge $50 to transfer what becomes an NFR plugin, and the other side is giving a free update to what I own. I'm happy to hear that. If they split up and offer separate plugins, great.chk071 wrote: Wed Sep 07, 2022 3:15 pm Everything is better than publicly throwing shit at someone on internet forums, or via emails, trusting that everyone believes every single word you say.

I’m a plugin customer (because I want to make music), not a cop or a judge. If your offer is interesting to me, I’ll follow you.
The background story is purely informative to me. I only judge the product and how it’s proposed.
If 2c Audio is back in any way, I’m with you. Products were amazing and I use them all the time. May it be Spin Audio, 3c Audio, 48497c Audio, I don’t care : I’ll buy them if the quality is the same. No need to talk about things I dont need to even try to understand imho. I love the products, period. I’ll buy them.
2c Audio were plugin makers. Not a public friends team we were following. Their relationship is none of our business. Good products ? We’re all in.

>Sue someone in Romania? Good luck!
Mr. Souter is a US citizen and company is registered in USA, though he lives (or used to) in Romania, that is correct.
> regarding legal actions.
I did. On May 9th 2022 my attorney sent to Mr. Souter a Cease & Desist Letter in which we demanded to stop infringing my copyrights. Mr. Souter did not react.
Preparing and filing a lawsuit in US is a lot of money and given that Mr. Souter arrested a good amount of my personal money and 2CAudio was my only source of income makes it somewhat a complicated affair, especially in current political situation, at least at the moment. I explained that in my original post.
Public laundary is the last thing I wanted to do especially given that Mr. Souter threatened me with defamation lawsuits
if I do that. My decision to go public was hard for me to take and it was hard to bear. But I had no other choice.
My intention with public posts was:
a) to let users know that they could not any longer get a proper official tech support because Mr. Souter cut my access to company emails. I offered tech support via my personal email. I must have done this because Mr. Souter was not going to send emails about that. Users must be informed that company stops official tech support. It's their vested right. I standed for this right. Mr. Souter did not
b) to let users know that there is a high risk that Mr. Souter would not be able to further update/support products. He is not a programmer. I'm the inventor and author of more than 90% of the whole code base. and even with external help it would be difficult for Mr. Souter to provide updates because the code/sdk is exteremely complicated. dsp is vectorized code that can compile from scalar to AVX512. Mr. Souter in his march post claimed that he would provide updates and support. Now it's september. Where is the promised? That was outright deception. I just wanted to make people be aware of that. Nobody listened
c) to make potential customers aware of the situation with 2CAudio and the legal status of the software it sells so they could make informed decisions
A few days ago 2CAudio webshop: https://www.designersound.com
started to ask credentials in order to log-in.
I would appreciate if users could try to login and see if it works.
Public access to the site is not available so it's not possible to purchase 2CAudio products from it.
If it's so then Mr. Souter collected as much money as he could and ran away.
No info, no updates, no support, no nothing. Very nice behavour for a former Grammy commitee voting member!
anyway, guys, thanks for feedback and sending betatesting requests to me.
I also want to express thanks to KVR Forum moderators who did not remove my original posts about the situation (unlike vi-control and gearspace, the latter just banned me outright). This allowed this important information to be available to many users and potential new customers!

How about take the code for the reverbs, do some refinement, create a new UI and relaunch under your own brand?

This is what I'm going to do. I can do Aether (and I can improve it) and variation of Breeze 1.x (which was a derivation of Aether's code).
I cannot do Breeze 2.x and Precedence which dsp/math was Andrew's RnD. To replace these I'd like to use 3D tech that I used in SpinAudio plug-ins back in yearly 2000's.
A replacement for Kaleidoscope will be an open programmable modular (not in traditional sense) synth that runs entirely on GPU. The corresponding GPU engine is 80% ready. This is how I wanted to implement KS in 2011 and I even made a proof-of-concept but unfortunetaly Andrew insisted on doing KS on CPU in his own way so he could sell his image/preset libs he already made for metasynth. He was so mad about KS that in 2017 he stopped sharing profits with me for months when I pushed working on long overdue reverb updates instead of his monstreous KS 2.0 project.
That was a first crack and a seed for later collapse.
I'm working on my new plug-in sdk. I do not want to use 2CAudio's as it has some of Andew's code and has a lot of legacy/old stuff so I want to switch to modern appoach with GPU based rendering.
The only problem is how to collect money. SWIFT is virtually non-working now for Russia. If the government approves using crypto for international payments then I can collect in crypto, but how many musicians use crypto now?
