FYI,

Precyne version 2.0 is now in beta testing stage.
The current beta version is running on Windows 10 & 11.
Apple Silicon version will be released some months after the Windows version has been launched.

Version 2.0 will be a free upgrade for everyone who already owns Precyne 1 license key. The exact same license key will work with version 2.0.

-----------

Main changes for version 2.0:

Large scale internal architectural changes.
Breaks compatibility with Precyne version 1 project files.
MIDI interface plugging and unplugging during runtime is now supported. Activate them in Audio MIDI Device Configuration screen.
Audio interface initialization and its configuration screen functionality and robustness have been improved.

Added Mixer Sets:
Allows you to switch between different hardware input/output channel configurations and routings with a single mouse click.
Allows you to switch your active audio interface quickly and easily.
Audio interfaces are automatically added to Mixer Set list during configuration in Audio MIDI Device Configuration screen.
Mixer sets can be added in Mixer screen.

Improved compatibility of loading and initialization of VST3/AU plugins.
Plugins now show a warning icon if their target audio channel is missing or if the plugin could not be found during project load.
Undo/Redo has been properly implemented for all features in Timeline, Clip Launcher, Mixer screens and in Pattern Editor.
Drag & Drop tracks in Timeline and Clip Launcher.
Pattern Editor: Shift + Mouse: When no area has been painted, clicking mouse paints the area starting from edit cursor to the mouse click location.
Pattern Editor: Note transpose buttons don't require the cursor to be in the note column for transpose to work.
Pattern Editor: When no area is painted, Ctrl-C / Ctrl-X copies/cuts whatever data the cursor is currently on.
Copy/cut/paste now flashes the area on screen that is affected.
Lots of small bug fixes.

I'm thinking about it. I could could probably make it happen today if I wanted to. Just thinking if there are / are not any downsides to opening it up to public beta today.

Send e-mail to support address with your details and I try and see if the online shop allows me to find your key based on your information. I cannot promise anything as it's a third party system, but I'll see if I can make it happen or not.

I'd definitely be interested in using this as an external sequencer for Ableton (despite owning it for 15+ years I still haven't mastered the piano roll and still prefer note-input using trackers). Are there any videos/screen recordings of using Precyne with Ableton with this workflow - In an ideal world it'd be amazing to be able to make a pattern in Precyne and then drag and drop the pattern as a Midi clip into Ableton !

No video of such workflow.

Drag & Drop between Precyne and Ableton is not in the list of currently planned features.

Ah OK, nevermind - worth a shot !

What do you think would be the quickest/easiest route to get pattern data from Precyne into another DAW - Using something like LoopBe and route Midi Out from Precyne to Midi In on Ableton and press play on Precyne and record on Ableton ?

Currently you could record the MIDI output generated by Precyne with the DAW you want to be using that data with. If there is need for exporting MIDI clips or MIDI data from Precyne, I could evaluate that idea and see if it's a good idea to put it on the list of upcoming features.

Logickin wrote: Fri Nov 17, 2023 12:46 am I am trying the tracker, and I have a couple of questions:

- Will we able to choose the file path for VST scan? I have some plugin stored in D drive to save space from my C drive.
- Can we use any form of bridge plugin to use VST2? I have tried blue cat patch work, and it crashes when I input a note; unify simply failed the scan. (I want to use some oldies like Synth1 or T-force alpha plus sometimes although I have the fancy stuff like diva or spire)
- Can we change keymap in the future version?
- Can we change the tick speed like traditional tracker, so we can write note in higher resolution or do swing, given the same BPM? (I normally write music with TPL in 3, with a resolution of 32th notes)

Other than that, this is a cool tracker, and the workflow is definitely much simpler than Renoise and Radium. Can't wait to see the update on this tracker.
Have you tried Polac Adapters? Originally made for Jeskola Buzz, now they work flawlessly with Rebuzz but also with some other hosts (you can't change VST3 path as far as i know, but you can always drop a message to Polac at https://forums.jeskola.net or here in KVR)

Were you able to locate my license?

Thanks
