You really should download Zebra and try it again just to get an idea of the flexability. There isn't really a filter slot per se. I mean, there are slots but, they are freely assignable to whatever module you want. There's a grid, it's like 4 columns by 12 rows or something. You could literally put a filter in every row I think. There's 4 VCFs, 4 Diva VCFs, 4 Diva HPFs, 2 XMFs. Here's my ludicrous example of one oscillator going into all the filters in Zebra2. Each filter also has multiple models available... you could rob one of the VCFs for Evil Dragons example of EQ and still mange to filter the f*** out of it. Even if you take out the comb filters, it's still pretty insane.bmanic wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 3:32 pm Ah I mean an "extra" EQ, not one that steals a filter slot. That we have in other synths too. A single band would be enough as long as it can do frequency, width and bipolar gain.
But yeah, glad to hear about the mod mappers! It's like at least 5 years since I tried Zebra 2 demo so I don't really remember much about it's capabilities.![]()

Having a dedicated EQ module would be nice, especially something with 3-4 bands and easy to modulate like in Filterscape.GruvSyco wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 6:07 pm You really should download Zebra and try it again just to get an idea of the flexability. The many filters in ZebraHZ are afaik also a result of additions over time. Zebra 3 seems to try to consolidate such things again. But then I hope it's not just 4 filters but more like 8? Then you can probably use the grid to get the same flexibility as with the two combinable filters in XMF without the need to create a new module kind?

Send the picture to Hans Zimmer. I bet he'll love it or demand to use the alpha in his next movieUrs wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 9:00 pm Hi all,
Here's a little teaser for our NAMM presentation next week:
Z3_alpha_17230.png
So this is Work in Progress. It doesn't have all the modules yet (but it does have all those which took a very long time to develop). And of those modules that are here, not all parameters are polished yet. We are however in a phase where it's actually usable, and that is what's needed to polish things.
This is also by no means the final UI. It's maybe 80% there, but e.g. the fancy background pattern was just thrown in there to have something nicer than just a plain black-ish background.
I'll elaborate a bit more as I find the time to, and maybe I manage to post more screenshots. I think I'll have the first set of presentations next Thursday, and that's when maybe some videos might pop up. And then I'll be happy to answer questions here. Depends on how stressed I am, jet lag, and all that.
In any case I'm very excited.
See you there, or online here, later.

Off topic here, but Filterscape VA has a fantastic polyphonic EQ.bmanic wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 3:24 pm This looks super promising! I may have to purchase my first Zebra this year.
Any chance of getting a polyphonic EQ module at some point that could be key tracked? It's one of those rare beasts that only Camel Audio Alchemy seems to have.. and it's so damn useful for fine tuning a preset to be "perfect".

One small design suggestion (I'm sure you'll get tonnes of these in the coming months!) would be to lightly colour code the Osc types (additive synth/wavetable etc) so you can see really easily at a glance which one is using which type.

Note that the screenshot in first post is a temporary GUI just to show something for NAMM. Basti has many ideas for the final GUI (I would expect a solid amount of changes), so let's see how that ends up looking.

I don't think it streams live... should be this afternoon, might go online in a day or two.
