Although it sounds great, it bankrupted me and smells like poop everytime I use it.

For me - there is no bad purchase, just a bad decision from my side - it was either impulse buy of something I dont want and need or I didnt demo it thoroughly enough.

Why? It's a very good tape emulation. Lighter than many others (looking at you, IK Tape).

That's pretty much what a bad purchase is though.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

Lately my worst purchase was for Melda MTRACK. Whenever I try to use it in Cubase, I get extreme pops and clicks etc. I have looked at all the material that has been published in regards to troubleshooting the issue. But nothing helps. What a waste of money! :x

Reality
Logic for PC
and every other thing I have that won't install or run anymore

Oops - just realized this is fx and not instruments.
I have fx that won't install or run anymore, but I don't remember what they are.

Oh right, didn't realize that, either.

And even forgot about what was *by far* the worst purchase ever: Bias FX.
Sounds kinda ok-ish but nothing to write home about.

Anyhow, the main culprit however wasn't the sound or functionality but the company and their treatment. One should know that back then, Bias FX was *the* champion of software calling home. When you logged the outgoing traffic, it tried to connect to over 20 adresses somewhere in cyberspace on each instanciation. The company would then blatantly lie to their users, telling them it was for analysis and hence quality assurance only. Right, among the sites it tried to connect to were Googleadservices, Facebook and what else. Quality control my a**.

Ever since, Positive Grid can simply FO. Never gonna buy anything from them ever again.

Some cheap channel strip from PA that I had to buy in order to achieve some bundled price.
Their cheap plugins can't even be gifted away now that they charge a transfer fee.

I was never impressed with the sound of Positive Grid's modeling. I have one of those little Yammy THR30ii modeling amps and the modern gain tones smoke anything I've heard from PG Bias.

1. Looking back, unfortunately Klevgrand.

They keep coming up with exciting new plugins, but the older ones like Korvpressor, Grand Finale and GotoEQ haven't been maintained for a long time (For example, scalability) Klevgrand plugins are musical and creative, but feel more like handy extras than essential tools.

2. I'm glad I don't have any more discoDSP products. The plugins do receive regular updates, but the prices and the whole incomprehensible situation surrounding them—no, thank you.

A few years back, I got some horrendous static and distortion when using the vocoder. I never contacted him about it. It could fry headphones and I am not trying to be dramatic.

I mean, I just stopped using it, period.

Around this time, he was talking about AMD video drivers, like Radeon, and complaining about them. And I had a Radeon card, but do not know if that was the issue.
