I didn't read that, but that's awesome. I'm sure that they didn't work all this time to release like 6 new features and say "have a good one, it's 300 bucks!"

Ron-- you just can't help trolling, eh? I can tell that you didn't mean to and that it wasn't intentional, but it's like it's in your blood or something. Like having a certain colour of eyes. No matter what, you can't help posting doubtful and negative comments.

There's obviously no way that's the end of the list. There's still MIDI to go, and the Acuma plug-ins I suspect (though it was never promised)... not to mention other bundled plug-ins if they had any developers respond to Jules'/Beno's request in the DSP forum.

I still firmly believe if they position T2 into the big sequencer's realm, it'll be a commercial suicide.

I think T2 is gonna make its OWN realm. A realm where you get all the features you want from a big sequencer and non of the features you dont want. All at an affordable price.

I have to agree AD80 it seems Tracktion started out being significantly different form the competition and cheaper.

Tracktion 2 so far would appear to fit the same description.Ease of use,workflow speed, now with high end features?

Tracktion 2 may have a similar impact as Live 4 did last summer.It's looking good, very good...

I hear Phillip uses Nuendo as well as Tracktion...I wonder if any video or scoring features have found their way into Tracktion

Possibly even a Live 4 realtime module/feature/mode in T2,UV22/HR or Pow - r dithering... OK time to stop

I wonder... 8)I think CD burning was a consideration at some point as well,(waaaaaay back.) Will CD/DVD burning make it into the Tracktion party like Samplitude 8?

Anyway at the rate the features are being added to the T2 site we will soon know whats in and whats not...surround?

Tracktion 1 is still brilliant but it looks like that was only the beginning of Jules plans!

It was the "looooool" that made it look like trolling. It seemed like "LOL, there's no WAY I'd pay for an upgrade with only these features, would YOU?" PLUS, your implication that the 'strip-tease' was almost done, when most of us (I think) suspect that it's maybe half done OR if there are only a few features left they'll be the big important ones.

Actually, right now if the list stopped, I'd have to make my decision based on price. Thankfully, I'm confident that there will be many many more or at least more important ones (Piano roll, hopefully loop audio recording).

I'm not. I hardly use MIDI. Though, if OTHER people have made suggestions, I'm sure there's a reason for it and I'll be happy the changes are made once I get more into MIDI.

However, if you read my post carefully, I wasn't saying that I need piano roll changes. I was merely saying that it hasn't been announced yet as a new feature, and most of us are pretty sure it WILL be something announced.

I don't think the list is even half done personally, and I believe that Mackie are still holding back the real showstoppers. It's quite normal to see feature update lists with 70 or so items in them. Just be patient and hold on to your hats

I expect or hope we might see at least a *couple* of the following:

MIDI improvements (?event list)
Possibly more Acuma plugs, plus 3rd party
Quick time/video support
Acidised looping tools
Optional mixer view (Mackie make mixers, right?)
Improvements to the sampler



But yes, Ron, I would upgrade (price permitting) even for the present list. You can count me back in the fold

The features you listed (scoring, video, CD burning, surround) are pretty much exclusive to the "major league" sequencers. Not to mention the continous comparison to Live, Nuendo, Samplitude etc.

Pro market is a very narrow one. And the 'pro' users are very hard to please.

I'd say *beep* them(pardon me, I'm a bit drunk atm). If T2 has those new features, good, but better not because they thought that would lure in the 'pro' users, but because the features actually help shaping T2 as an alternative(and better) way to make music.

Positioning has little to do with what a product actually can do.

With parings like Avid/Digidesign, Yamaha/Steinberg, Roland/Edirol/Cakewalk, Apple/emagic, etc, then I still think that Mackie will want Tracktion to reflect in software the values that they have in hardware - i.e. appeal to the same market.

Look at Mackie's hardware market and you'll see where they are going to want to pitch T2.

I'm sure it's that simple.

TBH, that's something worries me. But it's too early to judge until Mackie actually delievers T2.

Yet the way they position/treat those Acuma plugs really worries me...they become accessories to their hardware products with unrealistic pricetags on them.(unless you buy the hardware then get the plugins for free)
