Well then you're in luck, line tool does that when you use it for notes,

Maybe it chops your cocaine up for you?

There's a marketing ploy and a half, bundle T2 with a free gram of baking powder. Must be worth at least another £60 down kentish town

:-o  :-o
I suppose so... :-o
Let's hope not, isn't that why everyone rewires Reason to something else? Have more faith in Jules

:D

On that note, i really am off to bed, 'cos i'm shattered
Me too. Goodnight

I, for one, don't need or want a special 'drum view'. The piano roll is already a grid, what more do you need? :D As far as I can tell, drum views are just grids in which dots are placed instead of solid bars.

:D Just taking the piss... well, sort of-- that IS how I think of drum view, but I'm also willing to admit that I don't really know since I've never actually used one.

[more] Great news 8)

And presumably the notes added in are based on the current quantise value, or zoom ...?

well now that i think about it, dk+ is about to come out and it has its own sequencer so i really don't need a drum view :D

Fraid not. But the inserting notes in midi editor is now at an adjustable velocity and length independant of zoom level.

I use one every day. It really does speed up drum programming enormously, trust me.

FL studio's pattern sequencer, and Reason's ReDrum are like that... although in Live 4 it's nicer

DOH! Never mind, sounds like the line tool will do some of the things I miss..

At risk of derailing the thread--

What advantage does a drum view give that zooming and expanding the MIDI view in Tracktion doesn't already give?) If I zoom in on a bar that's 32 beats (8 measures, assuming we're talking 4/4) long, have set quantize to 1/4 note, what can't I do?

at the risk of being OT, does mackie own antares? if so is there any chance that autotune will be in T2?

In that case I don't think a drum lane is needed. It's really in apps that include a drum sample player of their own, and it's a simplified MIDI editor linked specifically to that sampler (e.g. in Live 4 and Reason). Useful if you have a drum sampler as part of the package, but otherwise no particular way I could see it working anyway. (presumably there isn't a drum sample player in T2...)

Back to the line tool - does it do the "reason" style automation thing in velocity and controller section as well as the "paint brush" type thing to notes, then?
