Mainly the new boost mode. It's most obvious then. I tend to hear that same kind of loose bass also without the boost mode but it's much less then. The boost mode adds nice highs but makes the bass less desireable on whole mixes. On single instruments the current boost is fine (haven't tried it on simple sine-like bass yet though.. I'll test some more).
Cheers!

I'm sure this is totally subjective indeed. This bass looseness is happening for me I'd say around 120hz to 180hz.. It's pretty minimal but enough to bother me a bit. It's no big deal though as I can try to use some other eq to compensate. I really like what the boost does to the high frequencies which is why I'd love to be able to limit it to these frequencies only. I can post some example wav files if you want. The difference is quite minimal so don't take too much stress from it, ok?

This happened again.
OK, I have added a 'Woofer' option which should solve the 'uncomfortable' sound issue you are getting in that 150Hz range.
http://www.voxengo.com/files/VoxengoHar ... _setup.exe
This mode makes the sound less flat in the 20-500 Hz range, as a result frequencies below 100 Hz may pump a lot.
Higher frequencies may get another coloration also.

After some brief testing I think the new 'woofer' button works well. When I keep it off the bass seems to be tighter than when it's on. When both boost and woofer are on the sound seems to be identical to the previous release which is good. Also I find the sound of the highs stays nearly the same when 'woofer' is off. Overall I'm very pleased now! When can we buy it????

this new version of its plugin - with Boost mode - simply has a quality sonorous almost so good that the new plugins of algorithmix, of 1500 U$, try the LinearPhase PEQ Red and you will see that the difference is minimum, thanks again voxengo!

bmanic, when Woofer is OFF, it is the 'original' mode (the one you seemingly had problems with). When Woofer is ON, it resolve this 'hollow' sound problem by shifting the effect towards lower frequencies so that frequencies above 100 Hz are less affected. Indeed, when Woofer is OFF, the bass sound sounds flatter than otherwise.

EDIT: no you're right, when woofer button is ON the bass is more solid. It seems that it's still not identical to the bass sound when boost is completely off but it's more solid than when woofer is off. I think it's nice to have all the options (boost, woofer and all off). Makes the EQ even more flexible. I'm constantly amazed by the nice top end of this EQ!

uh, this is just great ..
the only thing I'm missing in voxengo quality[tm] anymore is a bass enhancement plugin that would dance circles around waves maxxbass and rbass.
I was kind of hoping that this could do that as well, but of course a separate plugin would be better.

Well certanly the Wooler tigthens the bass a bit but...
I pushed +6 db at 80 hz and when toggle the Wooler there's less mud but isn't it the same as shrinking the Q about 3 steps??...of course I can easisy be wrong tho
Anyways this EQ is a breeze to set up and sounds wonderfull.
