T2 - a massive disappointment

Lunch - I think T2 has been designed to meet a certain market. It satisfied some, but there is a whole bunch of T1 users were hoping that they were the target audience.

everyone wants to be the target audience, and at some point or another, everyone is going to come up short.

The issue here is that people were expecting features despite the fact that they were never listed as coming, and indeed, in some cases categorically listed as *not* coming.

The time to be dissapointed was when the feature release list was completed. At that point, if your needed feature (timestretch/folder tracks/whatever) was not present, you pretty much knew you were going to be let down. Somehow though, a few people have managed to convince themselves that those features were coming anyway. I don't know why they did, but it seems to be at the root of a lot of the unhappiness today.

Thing is, people love to feel disappointed. Makes them feel important.

For what it's worth I think the manuals are worth the upgrade alone

People will bitch no matter what.

Jules could've put EVERY feature that exists in EVERY host and people would invent things to bitch about.

I guess we should we should expect to ...purchase any features missing from t2 and just learn to except it?
and be happy?

Yeah, LOL! I can see it now
"why didn't they just slowly add features with each verision bulid? I feel like there's too much stuff to
get my head around. What happened to T1's concept of ease of workflow?"

Yep, I got myself prepared for the worst with T2 months ago. But I'm very please with what is there, and what is missing for me personally should be a high enough priority to fix sometime soon. You can't satisfy all of the people all of the time though, no one should be too upset. That is life after all.

I think T2 should satisfiy all our needs, is that too much to ask?

Unfortunately, it probably is :( Just give me timestyretch and I could deal with any other limitations that still exist. Of course there are people who feel the same way about their most wanted features  Damn imperfect world.

I dunno, I just tried it.....I thought the midi looping (and midi recording/playback in general) in T2 was going to be much tighter & smoother for lack of a better description. I can't seem to grooves going the way I can in Live4 . It's not a feature or something I can pinpoint, just the way the midi engine "feels". I assumed that would be upgraded right away.

Even though it was something I looked forward to, I did find Live4 in the meantime, and forget all that editing crap for me, just lay down a groove and the midi is recorded nice and tight, so you can lock it in with the drums and build from there etc....

Live 4 has quantization to 16th notes on by default. Just set T up to do the same and see if it feels better.
