Mmmmmmmm Arovane - "Lillies" is a truly gorgeous album.

Monolakes - "Polygon Cities" would probably float your boat also.

Richard H.Kirk - (ex Cabaret Voltaire) not particularly IDM in nature but has an epic amount of fine quality work worth checking.

Square Pusher - Go Plastic

Flanger - the ever amazing Burnt Friedman's major side project is worth a mention also.

I'll try reviving this thread to look for some more recommendations...

It seems that melodic 'IDM' these days consists either of minor key 'evocative' reverbed piano-string things (ie a lot of City Centre Offices' stuff) or of slightly crunched hip hop beats with warm melodies over the top (ie a lot of Merck's stuff). Both of these can be lovely on a good, day, but I'm getting a bit bored of listening to more and more stuff in exactly the same vein. Is there a third way? I've been listening to a lot of grime derived stuff lately, but could feel like something a bit happy and trippy for a change...
