Something i missed during the patch contest is triggers. You can fake it with the sequencer/LFO and lag generators but that didn't quite get me the "tzing" i wanted. A trigger sequencer and trigable envelopes but be quite useful me thinks.

Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but in the Outputs section there are sockets marked CV1 and CV2, however, in the drop down lists of mod sources they are CV0 and CV1. Had me scratching my head for a while...

Yep to both of you.
The whole idea of triggers is slowly sinking in as I recently added LFOs as trigger source in Tyrell. I might expand on that.
The CV sockets will be renamed... thanks for spotting!

dunno if its been mentioned, but stackable inputs would be nice too.
i know theres the mixer section but i still run out of inputs quite quickly
my analogue module has banana plugs so everything is stackable and i guess im used to it
eg putting two osc into one filter at filters input point, saving the mixer for other things...

Hi Mr. Vurtsen! Long time no see!

If two sources could be mixed together by plugging them into the same spot, that would open pandora's box...
I've been thinking about it, but it remains hard to do in the soft world.
Them cables unfortunately don't grow that wayvurt wrote:dunno if its been mentioned, but stackable inputs would be nice too.

I wonder if ACE XL is still scheduled or we'll see only Bazille? So as of current planing the three main synths in Berlin Modular will be
...
- ACE XL (see ACE, but twice as many things)
If yes, will ACE XL oscillators sound like those of ACE or they'll sound like those of Bazille? I ask this 'couse i preffer the sound of ACE's oscs over those of Bazille, although they sound wonderfully i like more those of ACE, but it is only a matter of taste.
Excuse me for my bad english, i hope you'll understand what i've written ehehe my compliments for your work, i have tried a lot of vsti (sylenth, dune, squad, massive and so on) and imho a-ha vsti are the best sounding synths i ever tried

Thank you Howard for your reply. I love ACE and Zebra but also i like Bazille very much and i can't wait for commercial release to buy it *_*They will sound like ACE oscillators.

Uhm... I think I speak for most of KVR in that we would very much like Pandora's bos opened. ASAP.Urs wrote:If two sources could be mixed together by plugging them into the same spot, that would open pandora's box...![]()

Of course it has everything to do with how you have implemented signals internally, which I of course have no idea of. But in the world of analog modules Volts are Volts. So couldn't you just introduce the concept of mixable cables and have them flash bright red og even blink between bright red and onother obnoxious colour when the sum exceeds what your inputs can handle? Or brick wall the sum to "10V" of whatever max you have defined?

The problem is that it actually changes the audio flow when cables can mix, so the synth would have to recalculate itself (stopping audio and pausing for a moment) every time you did it.
And you CAN'T mix with stackcable cables in analog unless you want to damage your modules. At that point outputs are connected to outputs, which is a very bad thing sometimes. It's not about clipping as when you do passively mix two outputs like that you wind up with the average voltage between the two outputs (with a lot getting thrown into the outputs involved, possibly damaging them) not a 1+1 style summing. When it comes to modular synthesis stackcables (3.5mm ones I use for euro) or banana cables are meant for multing a signal, not mixing, and you don't mix with them for the same reasons you mix with a mixer module instead of a passive mult.

Excuse me for what is most likely an idiotic question:
I've downloaded the most recent Bazille for Mac and have the presets filed in HD/Library/Audio/Presets/u-he/Bazille. When I try to load a preset I can see the various folders and files but they are all grayed out and not able to be opened. I'm running OSX 10.6.7 on an i7 quad core. What am I doing wrong?
With grateful appreciation for any help.

I get it now: no sub-folders, just put all the presets into presets/u-he/Bazille

Urs, you were meant to design synthesizers.
Bazille is surprisingly stable -- this is alpha ?
This would not even be beta from others -- it would be the production release!
Great fun, brings me back to the hardware days:

Hello Urs!
I try Bazille and this synth sound so real to an analog hardware!
Congratulations and thanks!
