You can still get 10% off at Loop Loft with the code THX10. Not as good as the previous offers (or errors, judging by how quickly they were pulled, heh) but you do get the midi packs and it will probably prompt-ask you if you want Aaron Comess loops for free too- which you can select WAV, RMX, REX or all of those formats together.

You've got to be pretty quick on the trigger around here. That deal
was below dealer cost from what I've been told, and therefore likely an error
that somebody is unhappy about.

I bought Ableton Live 8 back in 2013 for $549 with a free upgrade to 9. We are now on version 9.7 with many new features and bug fixes all for free. So in almost exactly 4 years of using Live I have shelled out $549. Under Bitwig's current pricing model I would pay out $399, plus 3 years of upgrades to stay current, which totals $906.
Sorry Dom but the math does not make sense. I understand you need to make a living and I can respect and understand that, but that just isn't a competitive pricing model.
I have downloaded and played with V2 and it is awesome, but this new pricing scheme scares me, especially since we wont get bug fixes past the 12 months. I discover new bugs all of the time Ableton and they address these issues for free, for the life of that major version!

You don't have to upgrade every year (or at all)
You are assuming you will have a version with bugs, V2 is already pretty much bug free and you will have an entire year of updates...
Bitwig V2 already does a lot more than Live 9 (which I own) and is cheaper so to me it's much better value
If Live actually updated yearly with major new features the cost of staying up to date would be more than Bitwig (assuming you are tempted to upgrade by the shiny new features...I always am!). I want to back a DAW developer that is upgrading regularly, not building hardware.
Live is only cheaper as they have done almost nothing in four years worth an upgrade unless you are all about Push, despite setting up the vote for a feature forum all those years ago (where we all voted for in clip editing etc) they just spend there time and resources developing Push. BitWig pretty mich delivered all the features live users requested and took the clip based DAW in a different direction which (as a keyboard player) I prefer.
Bitwig has a fully working demo, you can check there are no bugs before you buy it. When you buy it you own it (as much as anyone can own software, it's always just licensed) you don't subscribe, it's yours forever, you never have to pay again unless you want to...but you will want to upgrade again (we all do!) at some point, then you just pay and also get a free year of (major) updates....you can really treat it like a normal upgrade program.

Just a suggestion .. would there be many takers if Bitwig team were to offer a one-time lifetime update scheme, similar to what cakewalk did? Say $479 for existing 2.x owners, $599 for 1.x owners, and $749 for new licenses.

Personally I prefer to just pay if I want the upgrade. V2 was worth the upgrade for me just for the modulators and CVB stuff....maybe after a year I will have everything I need an not need to upgrade again (I get all the free stuff for a year at least anyway)

My main issue with the license model is that Bitwig started as a very promising DAW more than three years ago and many people paid good money to jump on board.
These three years were covered by a single purchase of Bitwig Studio and that's just fine.
Asking good money for Bitwig 2 after these three years is acceptable, when I compare to Logic Pro costing $199 for a period of almost four years before the next version may arrive.
But with Bitwig's new license model, if you want to keep up with Bitwig's new features, you'll have to pay a similar amount EACH YEAR.
This is no good. Really. Don't do this.
Make sure that Bitwig 2 buyers get at least three years out of their purchase, including all updates and upgrades. We're already accepting quirks and misses no other DAW has.
Keep us loyal.
