But can´t stop wondering why Arturia has made the installing process in the way that you can´t set
the download path. That concerns all Windows OS. How strange is hat: you can´t define where you install your stuff.

The V Collection 5 installer includes option for "a tailor made" installing, but this means just which instruments you want to install, not the folder. Before I believed that you can set the path when installing individual instruments, but when you install the bundle, although you choose spesific instruments, the stubbern Arturia installer installs all to the Steinberg vst defaul folder.

Have you found any way (when installing the bundle) to choose yourself where you want it to be in your computer?

Why on earth will Atruria make such a splendid product installing this difficult?
you know you will get flamed by people who say "no worries, you can workaround with tricks..." i dont understand this SIMPLE!!!!! feature at all why it is so hard to include? really?

An addition to the above:
I notice that you can, after all, define the location, but you have to do that 36 separate times!!! I.e. you can´t make that path definition once, but you have to do it each time for all 17 instruments + the Analog Lab, and when you have both 32 bit and 64 bit DAW in your computer, it means that you define manually the path 36 times.
Is this some kind of test by the Arturia, the user must be punished before he/she can enjoy the great products? I know - we shouldn´t complain of this smallish nuisance, but correcting this should be very easy to Arturia - why on earth raise badwill for nothing?

Reminds me of updating U-he products... :D

At least U-he remembers the last chosen folder, so you just have to change that (.../U-he/Diva to ...Uhe/Ace etc.)

I recall with Arturia you have to pick your complete VST/VST64 folder paths every friggin time...

Who installs in "c...\\SteinbergVST" or whatever its called anyway?

I love the Arturia stuff, I use it all the time. But $199 is too much for me to upgrade from the V3 collection. Although the new instruments in V5 are amazing.

Personally, I don't care about authenticity, aliasing, or any mumbo jumbo you discuss here, that's not why I got the V3. I just use it to make music and to get inspired.

Thanks for the update Kevin. Great to see you're on!

Yesterday I just realised, that I miss init-patches in Mini V3. I think there weren't either in earlier versions. Either way, it'd be great to have such for all synths, where that is useful, e.g. Mini, Modular, ARP, Jup, etc.

Maybe different init patches to cover various starting points. U-he has something similar in Diva. This would help greatly when designing own sounds. The user don't have to go thru all pages and (de)activate parameters, modulations, etc.

For each instrument, we have a bank called Template which is similar to what you are describing.
But it is true that this bank is not very consistent across all the instruments. We will try to improve it in the future.

Thanks for your reply.
Really? Haven't seen it on Mini V3... I'll have a look again.

BTW: I also dropped my feature request thru the support form. I didn't find a specific topic for "Feature Request", so went thru "Software Hardware Issues > Type of problem = Other".

Ultimately everybody could create those templates themselves... I think it would just round up the preset banks nicely ;)

Concerning the Analog Lab interface: wouldn't it be most intuitive if by double-clicking the instrument in your "room of instruments", it would open the interface of that instrument?
How is the move from the Analog Lab to a spesific instrument interface planned to happen?

An other interface remark: I don't like the borders in the new instruments. The ver. 4 instrument GUI is much more elegant, its like a real instrument laying in your screen, but the ver. 5 GUI is like a cardboard box an instrument inside - I guess this is the price of resizable GUI? Not good, sorry to say.

And BTW, anyway in my laptop, the new Analog Lab seems to be a bit too heavy and CPU hag. Not very smooth - obviously needs more efficient computer.

Okay, I've updated my Arp 2600 to the latest version and, just to give some feedback to others, have to admit that I prefer the old version. I don't like the preset browser at all, it feels sluggish on my system, and the new icons look like those prerendered mouse-over buttons on ugly web pages from the 90s. :o If you've got a high resolution screen the new GUI is probably an improvement, though.

Anyway, it's not a big deal, the sound is fine and I feel safer with the upgrade in terms of future compatibility. (Who knows what Microsoft will come up with to torture us in 5 years from now?)

Any news on the CS80 bugs? Like the selector for the triangle/sine osc not being functional?

Mini V3 includes a Bank called "Templates" that you could acces from the new Patch browser. That one includes around 31 different template/tutorial patches.
