Thanks to this thread I finally realized what word they were saying in the song Return to Oz by scissor sisters. Skeksis at the rave. huh. It's only been about 18 years that I've been wondering what that word was.

Happy forum people are all alike. Unhappy forum people are all unhappy in their own ways.martiu wrote: Wed Nov 01, 2023 9:29 pm in their own personal forum people had negative feeling about subscription, if your own customers in your own forum people are unhappy, that is a red flag
(Sorry, just riffing off your post. Thank you for that information, though.)

I bought Serum because of this kind of post.... But I don't think it is grounded in reality at all. Serum doesn't sound better than Hive, Avenger, Falcon or Current.vertibration wrote: Wed Nov 01, 2023 9:18 pmyea, sound quality, wavetable editor, and speed to get idea out......very very good. I feel bad for other companies when Serum 2 drops lmao. Mad props to MA for Current though.....a little more love on that granular side and I think its really nasty
Serum was awesome when it was released in 1874 but now it is just another (good) synth....
Current is more into spectral than wavetable, exactly like Vital, so Serum is not a good comparison. It is like comparing Serum and Novum (I am going a bit too far here lol)....

I could give you a coupon for a box of Q-Tips but reading your conclusion I don’t think it would help.Jac459 wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 1:08 amI bought Serum because of this kind of post.... I could talk to you hours about cognitive bias.... But I am not sure you would accept it....
Point is, 100% of the time I had an argument with people telling me my ears are shit because I can't ear the difference between 2 sounds and we could perform a proper blind test, I won... The person was not able to ear anymore the "obvious differences" without the visual feedback....l
