Phase plant is way more flexible in routing.

Current is more a competition for serum.

What current could have better than Phase Plant: spectral oscillators and the effects themselves.

But the routing of the effects is much more limited than Phase Plant.

Both have very nice and intuitive UI....
Last time you said it is more competition for Avenger. :D
I have Avenger, Rapid, Falcon...

Avenger though great and V2 will have great features and effects, my old system can't handle with constant spikes, even if i make simple patches. I would sell it, but it is NFR for me.

Rapid is great and quite fast and inspiring, but the future of this great synth is unknown. The only thing i don't like, i can't make multisamples loop points, so it is impossible to use multisamples for pads, because of clicks. For that part i use Falcon.

I bought not too long ago and discovering now Falcon and it has mind blowing possibilities.
Most of all i like it's Midi Script processors and granular engine. But it is not immediate synth like Serum, Phase Plant or Current as it seems.

I don't like Serum. Phase Plant is great and Current sounds great too.
The difficult choice is that for price of Current i could take Phase Plant (basic) and VCV Rack 2 Pro on black friday(+20-30$ to add). :ud:
Yes you are right to remind me. Avenger is a very obvious competitor.
On the rest of what you say.... I fully agree.

Edit: if you dont have Phase Plant full, don't hesitate one second. It is just the best synth on the market, period.

Could be argued that only parts of the two VS tracks posted here are 'music'. But I guess these are some of their more in your face tracks, which to me have very grating drums/ryhtym. I don't think they have much of the 'roll' of dnb music, so you get more of a barrage of sound than something with some flow.

Venetian Snares?… I had to googled it
I'm not sure that's it's really this kind of synth. Seems aimed more in the mainstream EDM type direction.

(Not that anything can be limited that way)

I can’t demo it yet but usually the presets are the culprit for creating associations. PP has horrific presets like Serum which is incredible versatile. Current, from Dash video, seems to have a superb quality sound engine and smooth wavetables morphing that reminds me of Hive.
We’ll see.

Can’t agree more. Another planet.

I think Minimal Audio might have capitulated too quickly to the vocal no-subscription mob.

Maybe they should have gone ahead with their original subscription model for two or three months, then assessed how well that was working for them.

Why delay the "Inevitable"?

Yeah like that's going to make a difference, people are going to turn pro-sub in a couple of months just because of this one synth lol

The pool of potential customers might be larger than the number of people who post disparagements and ultimatums on the internet.

Money talks, but talk is cheap.
Talk about money is still just talk.

Well... Talk wasn't cheap in this case... It actually had a financial impact.

You can speculate all you want but don't you think this supposed "pro-sub" crowd would have spoken up also in the comments? The comments were about 98% anti-sub, why would the pro-sub people sit there with no comment on the situation? (spoiler: because they mostly don't exist except in your imagination). Or are you trying to insinuate that there is this mysterious group of sub-lovers who are not on the internet or any forums that would jump at the chance to subscribe to this synth? haha
