We'll need quite some more time. Sascha has just started on Comb Filters nevertheless, and I'm preparing myself to work on completely unrelated things that need to happen beforehand.

Missunderstanding totally intentional.Urs wrote:FarleyCZ wrote:That was ironic![]()

Is "Sascha working on comb filters" about comb filters (and some other modules in Zeebs) not quite sounding correct at 96k sample rate bug, Urs?

I wouldn't like to change this to bugfix topic, but wierd, I've made upgrade to 96k workflow recently and didn't notice any drastic changes in Zebra. ...it's true though I haven't properly used comb filter and XMF till then. Is there a topic about it?

Wasn't that fixed in 2.6.1? afaiaa it was fixed quite a while ago. If not, we don't have an issue in our tracker.EvilDragon wrote:Is "Sascha working on comb filters" about comb filters (and some other modules in Zeebs) not quite sounding correct at 96k sample rate bug, Urs?

I honestly don't remember, sorry if I raised some confusion. I just vaguely remember that some modules didn't quite sound right at 96k, some time back. Were XMF also affected? A bit fuzzy on the details, sorry...

Most notably, the formant filters sound louder. Which isn't really fixable, unless we downsample them at higher sample rates.FarleyCZ wrote:I wouldn't like to change this to bugfix topic, but wierd, I've made upgrade to 96k workflow recently and didn't notice any drastic changes in Zebra. ...it's true though I haven't used comb filter and XMF till then. That said, some sonic differences are to be expected - hopefully for the better. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense to work at 96k

That's true.

Nope, my bad formulation, sorry.EvilDragon wrote:Were XMF also affected?
That's surprisingly interesting. Is it caused by choosen implementation or some physical aspect of formant filter model?Urs wrote:Most notably, the formant filters sound louder. Which isn't really fixable, unless we downsample them at higher sample rates.
(Didn't mean it offensively, just being courious.)

Chosen implementation. It's a "shortcut" biquad filter, and we all know of how little use they are in contemporary DSP.FarleyCZ wrote:Nope, my bad formulation, sorry.EvilDragon wrote:Were XMF also affected?

(next implementation will be based on an analogue model with literally no side effects)

Nice!
Either way, I can't wait for Z3 already.
Are modal synthesis and simple sample playback still in consideration?

Modal Synthesis yes, but simple sample playback? - We'll add sample 2 waveform support, stuff like that.FarleyCZ wrote:Nice!Either way, I can't wait for Z3 already.
