How? I cannot find anything fancy on the mod envelope part. Perhaps i'm missing something?pdxindy wrote:Curve tension can be done in the Mod Matrix already... for A, D and R individuallyGeorgeZ wrote:I don't know how it would be done in this ADSR (non-graphical UI), but curve tension would be handy, imo, for A and D at least, maybe in the WIP window. i am still not getting used to the One shot envelope. is it some kind of sidechain envelope? because i really like the sustain/ release on this envelope. it is perfect for this long plucks and the overlapping of single voice oscillator sounds.
thanks for all the presets so far!

And for reference, the original clip:
ARP 303 Saw
They are *ahem* somewhat different, but does the original clip really sound better?
ARP 303 Saw is Hive (all except the 'thanks for trying this demo' bit, which I added).
Take 2 is Sylenth.

I think someone already mentioned something along these lines:
Animated visual indicators of modulations. For example, When I engage the modwheel, all parameters affected will have their respective knobs' range indicators move accordingly. Perhaps slightly glowing and pulsating, but in the same light-blue colour. A largely superficial suggestion, but I would love it purely for eye candy.

a simple toggle via right-click menu option will sort that right out. Like Bazille's oscilloscope's options, except that you can turn it off completely if you like.2ZrgE wrote:Yes, eye candy which may cost CPU cycles which are needed for the sound engine...

Oneshot envelope always goes through all its stages even if you release the key early.hyperconnectedspace wrote:i am still not getting used to the One shot envelope. is it some kind of sidechain envelope? because i really like the sustain/ release on this envelope. it is perfect for this long plucks and the overlapping of single voice oscillator sounds.

has it? maybe aliasing is not such a bad thing than for digitalish detuned osc clusterfuck of harmonic rich waveforms.. At least when its served on double rate..trance_lucent wrote: What are you speaking about? Hive's oscillators are quite limited in possibilities, I admit, but they are of extremely high quality, much better than the most synthesizers. Including your Nord, that has much more aliasing.

yes, you can check it. Just compare sawtooth with both synthesizers, use Spectral Analyzer.3phase wrote:has it?trance_lucent wrote: What are you speaking about? Many people like aliasing, they perceive it like "character" of the synthesizer, but this is a totally different story. If to say strictly about just quality, more aliasing = less quality.3phase wrote: Maybe aliasing is not such a bad thing than for digitalish detuned osc clusterfuck of harmonic rich waveforms.. Yep, great for drum sounds.

Drag the target to say the Amp1 Decay... Mod Depth now adjusts the Decay curve...

Btw. a simple "constant" modulation source can be used too, it seem this is only a modifier for the part of the envelope and with negative values it brings this very short "plucky" envelopes back.
But I think this is not the best implementation. Some other developers showing how this can be done a lot better and easier to use. I like how this is implemented with Spire, where the different curves can be switched by clicking in the part of the envelope display.
Anyway, after a lot of testings with a complete song I made with Hive I came to the conclusion that Hive it's not a synth I must have. I replaced some sounds with Massive, Spire, Sylenth or Dune2 and liked this results more. At the end I had replaced all Hive synth instances and have now also uninstalled Hive...
I think for users not already own some of the other synth Hive is another good option but it's not "the" option or a replacement for all of the other (similar) synth.

Constant will do exactly the same thing as raising or lowering the decay knob itself. It does not change the curve.4damind wrote:Btw. a simple "constant" modulation source can be used too, it seem this is only a modifier for the part of the envelope and with negative values it brings this very short "plucky" envelopes back.
