If he's referring to the exchange between me and Rappo Clappo, I think the two of us were cordial (for the most part). It's hard to temper 100% of one's frustration when meaning seems to get lost in the posts, though.Numanoid wrote:Obviously a lot of users got strong feelings for Reason, creating a heated debate.kmonkey wrote:This thread is a shame for moderators.
I am happy that the mods at KVR are more lenient than at Props website, letting users say what they mean.
Next Propellerhead Reason upgrade (9.5) to include VST support

All good. We all make mistakes, but life is easier when people admit them.
Mistakes can be forgiven. Stubbornness (whoever created English spelling?) usually is the cause

What I can't see since I still don't have access to the beta is whether it's possible to add a few controls to the front panel of the plugin container device - it would be cool if it had something like the combinator macros built in so you don't always have to open the plugin to get access to quick controls and worked more like part of a rack.

same as in Bitwig, has base value which can be modified relatively with CV

easiest way is using the free https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/ ... generator/ as macro control unit with it, in this case the workflow is exactly same as the Bitwig one (+ unlimited possibilities with the cv system), so cool

A few people mentioned drag n drop midi from something like ez drummer to selected track is being worked on in the beta. Has this been updated yet?
Hoping this happens so we can use the vst's properly

Props website? There hasn't been a forum on their site in over 2 years. PUF was a miserable, almost totally unmoderated viper's nest at the end which I do not miss. The problem is that the Props were *too* lenient and let the forum run itself... into the ground.Numanoid wrote:Obviously a lot of users got strong feelings for Reason, creating a heated debate.kmonkey wrote:This thread is a shame for moderators.

That's a great idea actually. They can be placed within combinators like normal rack devices, but it'd be fun to have some of those types of controls native to the container itself.aMUSEd wrote:What I can't see since I still don't have access to the beta is whether it's possible to add a few controls to the front panel of the plugin container device - it would be cool if it had something like the combinator macros built in so you don't always have to open the plugin to get access to quick controls and worked more like part of a rack.

I doubt it. The timing might "feel" right, but developments like this don't get implemented overnight. I find it far more likely that they've been working on this for several years in parallel as a backup plan if going exclusively Rack Extensions didn't pan out as they hoped. With Magnus' past contributions to the project and Mattias stating in one of the recent video livestreams that this was being worked on before the capital investment, I think it was just a matter of the Props no longer being able to deny the realities of the market and #1 request from their users.chk071 wrote: True true. Having worked on it as a backup plan is not incongruent with the new investors requiring that the backup plan be put into action. We probably don't hear about backup plans that aren't acted upon very often. No small amount of development effort is wasted year in and year out on projects that never see the light of day for any number of reasons.Tronam wrote:I doubt it. I think the point Enochlight was trying to get across is that Magnus isn't just a plug-in developer; He's also a well respected architecture guy with a deep understanding of the VST (and AU) specification who creates helpful tools for other developers. Considering his close involvement with the Propellerheads since the early days, there's nothing farfetched about his tweet and it would be pointless to lie about. Good luck on the quest for 2007 proof though. That kind of cynical rhetoric is the stuff that forums are made of.Rappo Clappo wrote:@EnochLight
Again. What has Symbiosis to do with VST support in Reason?

Can anyone with the beta confirm that VST effects can receive midi (note) data? I know of several effects that use note numbers to alter how it functions. My guess is this works but I don't recall seeing anyone explicitly saying they tested it.

Not a real test but sending midi note into Volcano seems to work. That said, it's not a complete implementation it seems; Effects track lane doesn't seem to take MIDI note message. I suppose combinatior workaround still works..? No time to check right now srybmrzycki wrote:Can anyone with the beta confirm that VST effects can receive midi (note) data? This kind of thoughtful measured response is simply unacceptable here at KVR.Tronam wrote:I think the point Enochlight was trying to get across is that Magnus isn't just a plug-in developer; He's also a well respected architecture guy with a deep understanding of the VST (and AU) specification who creates helpful tools for other developers. Can't you just right click the VST rack device and select "Create track for ...." and then create a note lane for that track?xbitz wrote:yepp, simply should enable the "Receive Notes" in the programmer
and done
No need for a Combinator.
