SLiC wrote: Fri Jan 01, 2021 3:05 pm I have to admit that despite buying Noisy (as I have a Touché), this one is growing on me. The interface totally put me off at first, I still don't like many aspects of it (including the colour!) but there is no denying the sound is excellent and I am starting to find my way around the modulation system. Noisy is so different, bright simple GUI, learn it in 5 minutes but still a wide range of complex sounds to explore - more instant gratification and a no brainier if if you have a Touché but I think Plasminic may be different enough to have 'as well' ;-)

Anyone know how long the introductory pricing will last?
I did end up buying both Plasmonic and Noisy. I think I just sort of felt like I needed to self medicate with software due to everything that’s going on. I’ve yet to crack open Noisy, but it seems like it’ll be fun.

@cinebient
no free-resizing, but did you see the different GUI sizes in Plasmonic menu ?

No, so you see why I still have to demo more :D

Post

O.k. I See there is only 100% or more, but I would like 80-90%.

Post

Could use 50% and 75% here.

Post

i'd like to see 56%, 79%, 5%, and 400%. or just an endlessly-expandable window.... :D

Even more I would like to have editing for the ADSR curves/slopes. I am sure I missed this option somewhere since static ADSR would be a nogo here for me.

They are all fully editable, just click on the Section to edit....

Uh. this things seems more complicated (for me) to edit than a modular.
I also See not how that effect the curves.
Legato anywhere?

However, just tried to layer 2 instances with a default demo preset (first from the acoustic/hybrid), Logic arp, Precedence and Breeze 2 for space. Oh I really like what I hear. It blends great with extern reverb.
Some physical modelling tools and synths sounds great but I find them hard to mimic a kind of realistic acoustic instrument in a hall/stage/room. Plasmonic is an instant joy here for me. https://soundcloud.com/user-790535032/plasmonic-test

Modulate Decay of Env 1 by Env 1... it has a deep control over the shape, though not very intuitive.

All envelopes curves shapes are per modulation ( see mod matrix, mod window). Same for lfo start phase .About legato ( you can access to 2 different modes( see envelope trig section, and expression note for glide time...)

Not more complicated than anything else, just different....check out the manual, its pretty short and accessible from the demo. The 'trigger' options with random etc are quite like a modular, in a good way!

I will try that, thanks. The trigger option is great indeed and can result in some pretty nice things.
It grows on me more and more. First I thought its a bit limited in terms of physical modelling compared to modulars where I just can load modules of impulse, resonators, waveguide etc. but the one in Plasmonic really works great and seems to offer quite some of the best resonator algorithms I heard yet. A reason its not so easy on cpu maybe. Of course audio input would be nice and more impulses to choose but I read that its not so easy and the impulses was a choice to work perfect with the resonator. But i miss a bit some more interesting material morphing options (like Sculpture and a few modulars offer).
So Plasmonic is not as versatile here but I would say is very good in its sweet spot.
I have to demo it a bit longer to decide if I really need it. I know its great and so but I have already so much and with some tools its more easy to design similar sounds for me.
