Omnisphere 2 is $499 US, the same as Omnisphere 1. Upgrade from 1 to 2 is $249, unless you buy 1 after 2 was announced, then it's free. I don't know if there is a time limit on the free upgrade, as long as you purchased Omni 1 between Omni 2's announcement last NAMM and its release April 30.

And a footnote - if you already have all three Spectrasonics products, the upgrade is $199.

Actually although that's the official chapter and verse, I'm sure I've read people saying they were ok even in that circumstance. I'd advise dropping Spectrasonics a line if it applies to you - can't hurt.

Does anyone know if Omnisphere 2 will "re-use" some of the 43 GB of Omnisphere 1 sounds?

In other words - I hope we won't have to install another "Omnisphere 2" folder with
> 43 GB of sounds - lots of which are duplicated by version 1.

(I hope the question makes sense...)

AFAIRead; This appears to be the case. The new samples/waveforms are an addition to these.

AFAIRead; This appears to be the case. The new samples/waveforms are an addition to these.

if you go the download route... it about 18 gb of data divided in to 3 to 4 datasets... i believe you would just have to move/add those datasets into your Omnisphere sound library...

Stylus RMX - NEW
RMX Expanded upgrade - NEW
Trilian - NEW
Omnisphere - USED
Omnisphere Moog Expansion - NEW

I asked if I could qualify for the VIP. They said NO.

Pretty annoying, the used Omisphere barely even saved me any money at the time.

wow this sucks, didnt expect this from them... they got a lot of respect from me. this is pretty bad from them.

I don't think so - they have to draw the line somewhere, its clear where it is. (Btw, I'm in the similar situatio, had bought e.g. the RMX from the first Stylus version and Trilian/Trilogy).

that's pretty surprising. it's not like you got everything on the cheap, and have even ponied up for extras. clearly you are a loyal customer
