Well, hehe, that would be a missing skill, definatelyspaceman wrote:common sense
Nah, seriously, there's no point in getting into beta testing Z2 anymore. But if you put Z2 to some good use... who knows what's next?

hehe.. not exactly my cup of tea anyway, testing. I don't have the patience for it.

Yeah... can't wait ether. Just fixed a simple bug in the mixers that could lead to clicks. And then I thought "why not just copy the mixers, ditch all their parameters, multiply instead of add, after oversampling and call it Ringmodulator?". So the Ringmodulator is now in. 3 of them, to be precise. 2 for the voices and 1 for the effects section. The quickest implementation of a new module ever, as a RM has no parameters. Just two inputs and an output. But it's also the first module that required oversampling. So, it's also one of the most expensive modules

I confess that I have taken adavantage of Urs' generosity with an NFR. I plan to buy when I have paid my credit card bill for thesepast few months - jus t bit more to go and then I can let myself buy a few more synths and libraries. I have to admit that I amoung those who have not been at all usefull except to say if Zebra plays or not on my various WinXP hosts. I really have no clue how to program even the most basic patches and have to rely on the presets. I must say though that by witnessing the exchanges on the development process has been a humbling experience. Hats off espe URS and to Tas, Sascha, rmus7 and all the rest of the real contributors for terrific work.
Best wishes,
Gordon

i think i made the beta team for filterscape because i was one of a handful of people who registered More Feedback Machine and i got hooked on the mighty development soap opera that plays out in this forum.
i may have contributed very little to the filterscape development, but mostly i think i earned that nfr copy by using it in a lot of tracks and talking up its qualities whenever opportunity arises. But mostly feel I took advantage of Urs' generosity.
i dropped off zebra testing figuring it's more useful for me to send Urs some money when he's done than anything I would contribute in the meantime.
and i definitely want to support his work because i think his interface work is brilliant and unique, it's very difficult to present complex concepts through a simple, usable interface and he has that gift.
and the sooner he gets done with zebra, the sooner he can get on to More Feedback Machine v2, If he's finally reached that personal goal of duplicating a DX7 e-piano sound, we really can't be all that far away

So true! - Especially considering that all the dsp code is already done... it just needs to be put together and get a nice gui!wrench45us wrote:the sooner he gets done with zebra, the sooner he can get on to More Feedback Machine v2
Hey, and thanks Gordon & Jan! Sure, you've both been more active during Filterscape, but then, getting the Win stuff going required a lot of testing and I'm glad you helped out there!

Is there going to be a randomize feature on Zebra2 like on Filterscape?

Cheers Urs. I just wished I could have at least made a preset of two.Hey, and thanks Gordon & Jan! Sure, you've both been more active during Filterscape, but then, getting the Win stuff going required a lot of testing and I'm glad you helped out there!

Not initially. It's one of the things I gotta work on to make it better... due to the modular structure it'll be pretty hard to come up with something that randomizes anything meaningful...Notron User wrote:Is there going to be a randomize feature on Zebra2 like on Filterscape?
However, I'm thinking of stuff like random XY-Control assignments. That way you can randomize a patch in a non-destructive fashion, 64 parameters at your disposal, obscurely mapped to 4 XYs...

Without reading this entire thread, has the MSRP for Zebra 2 been announced?

More or less. It'll stay at US$199. But I'll offer it for something like $169 from Dec 6 - 31 or so, while it's still work in progress. This offer will be up for as long as Z2 isn't 100% perfectly the synth I want it to be.1-2-Many wrote:Without reading this entire thread, has the MSRP for Zebra 2 been announced?
This introduction offer won't include Zebra1.5 though. Zebra 1.5 will be available until final release of Z2 for the normal price, which might be interesting for Mac users, as the update is free for people who bought it after May 1st of 2005. Buying Z1.5 currently means getting two plugins (errm, 5 actually...) that live side by side. (Although I hardly believe that Z1.5 has anything to offer that Z2 hasn't)
Sorry if this sounds confusing. Maybe because of my mental disorder due to recent work overkill.
Cheers,
