I installed earlier today without a hitch on Win 10 Anniversary, setting a custom install location for each. I hadn't attempted to install before, mind.

What version number are your installers ? I got the error messages on a Win 10 system that did have the plugins already installed in the default location. It installed the .dll in the custom location and deleted the old .dll from the default location. The new installer does work but only after I click through the error message. I just downloaded the new installers a few minutes ago.noiseboyuk wrote:I installed earlier today without a hitch on Win 10 Anniversary, setting a custom install location for each. I think it must be v3 - for the m1, the file name is kc_m1_win_173_3.zip.

Thanks, mine says kc_m1_win_172_3.zip and the older version was 172_2.noiseboyuk wrote:I think it must be v3 - for the m1, the file name is kc_m1_win_173_3.zip.
So if someone else who has previously installed any of the plugins can try the new installers to see if they also generate the error messages I'd be grateful. I've got a running support e-mail thread going with Korg so any information I can report to them now will help.

Just downloaded and installed this '_3' version (dated 25/12) and get the same error though didn't on the initial one dated 22/12 .... However, pressing 'OK' just continues the install regardless and then runs a-ok.

So, anyone want to share some audio stuff about the Arp Odyssey?
Want to hear that fat 16 voice unison in action.
I think i will go for it too before the sale ends but i´m still a bit scared about cpu usage.
Is it not possible to demo the Korg stuff?
I can´t find anything but then it seems i always land on another pagefrom Korg if i search for Korg in my browser. Their store and websites are as confusing as their installers it seems
At least it is an Odyssey!

Thanks for the reports. I'll pass them along to Korg support.mcbpete wrote:Just downloaded and installed this '_3' version (dated 25/12) and get the same error though didn't on the initial one dated 22/12 .... However, pressing 'OK' just continues the install regardless and then runs a-ok.
Yes clicking OK does finish the install process but obviously for both Korg's sake and the sake of the user base this issue should be fixed. No one wants an error message pop up. Korg has been far more responsive that I expected so we'll see what happens.

I'll see if I can get something together later. CPU so far has been fine, but I haven't pushed the Odyssey to its limits yet.Cinebient wrote:So, anyone want to share some audio stuff about the Arp Odyssey?

Does anyone know if the other iPad versions of the Korg vsts like the MS-20 have updated DSP vs the old plugins? Maybe they can offer a hint about what we may expect in updates.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

Here is an example that I like from a factory preset:Cinebient wrote:So, anyone want to share some audio stuff about the Arp Odyssey?

I hope it is clear as I just put a limiter in the end and didn't push anything high! Notice the high and low and the details of the sound. This is what I'm looking for with this character of course! If that won't convince you, then don't buy it
Edit:
Oh, sorry! I can't give you an example of 16x16 voice. My i5-4570 can't handle it @ 128 buffer @44.1 khz, but I can mostly handle 16 poly with 3 unison! If you have a better cpu than mine, then you might able to handle it.

I wanted to be able to control this straight away with my hardware so made a template for playing this in Kore 2:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/8pzsp0qo39spi ... e.ksd?dl=1
And also a less detailed one for use in Komplete Kontrol Series 2 keyboards (bit more complex to setup as it includes thumbnail and database files too so read the info.txt on where to put them)

Man, what a mess.
My Korg plugs stopped working a while back for some reason. Might have been me switching user accounts on the same machine, or iirc Korg checks if you have ethernet cable plugged in or not and allows or bans accordingly.
It was quite easy to set up the new account and migrate. I downloaded the new installers and tested out the M1 first of all. It didn't work as expected - throwing up the old authorisation screen. That didn't work.
Also, no 32 bit option? I'm sure it's been covered, but still...
I found a way to re-authorise my plugs by logging in to the old korg user net account and requesting a new serial. I then authorised in 'off-line' mode. Worked. And what the hell is this 'you must be connected to the internet to authorise your plugs' bs with regard to the new installations? Man oh man.
Anyway, after installing the latest version, it didn't show the new screen that was shown in the latest registration pdf how to.
I got the plugs working on my system though via the old web page and off-line method and I've written down the keys for them, so at least they will work on this machine. I've got the old installers as well backed up, but what a palaver.
Maybe I should have done a proper uninstall, but I didn't read that anywhere. What lack of foresight and it's ironic really - they tie you down to your specific machine hardware that is absolutely unique, but won't let you use the plugins without authorisation again if you use a different user account. You can only use one account at a time physically, and it's tied to the same hardware, but no, that would be too easy.
These Korg plugins have been one of the biggest pains I've ever dealt with with regard to authorisation. I'm not so surprised that they have ballsed this migration as well. They just couldn't have handled it any worse.
I'm so glad I'm not touched by this because I'm not really making music at the moment. I only did the transfer so it would be sorted when they mess things up the next time.
What a cluster f**k.
I even considered getting the new plugin just to see what it's like, coz I love that machine. But I'll pass on it now. I've got the excellent GMedia versions of Odyssey and I doubt it will be better than that.
Korg have dug such a deep hole for themselves with all of this, I don't think they'll ever figure this out.
How can the people that write the best software emulations known to man also write the worst copy protection known to man? It's not like they aren't cracked black and blue anyway.
Ah well, I got my new account set up. If they ever sort this shit out, I might even be able to start using the software again. What a wonderful re-introduction back in to the world of making music with computers again...
I'm probably doing something wrong and I'm sure I'll figure it out, but Korg are definitely in the top 5 plugin makers of all time for penalising their legitimate users with incompetent protection/installation mechanisms.

O.K. thanks. I like the character of this (since i use it on my phone inside Gadget already ) but i really hoped the cpu was not so out of reach and wanted to hear that fat unison (since i only can have 8 voices).EnGee wrote:Here is an example that I like from a factory preset:Cinebient wrote:So, anyone want to share some audio stuff about the Arp Odyssey?

Like i said in previous posts i can run several instances with 8 voice unison on my phone (even if it´s the limited Gadget version it has the same engine) at 128 buffer. 5-8 instances at the same are no problem and the latest idevices should be able to double that at least. So i won´t buy this as plug-in.
I have a i7 quadcore macbook pro from 2013 but not sure if that would help if an i5 can´t even beat my iPhone 6S which is even far away in power from the new ones it again shows me that is a really bad port from Korg.
Thank´s. Then i think i will pass so far since i can´t accept that really. I wish there was a demo version to test, damn.
