Can SM2 be installed in a folder structure like SM1? In other words, locate only the dll and maybe a few other files in the vst folder and all the rest in a separate folder (i.e. program files\synthmaster2).

To preset developers: Can you update your older presets? I mean those which were created before the revamped voicing and fx section.

ADSR release slope doesn't show any visual feedback. I was a bit confused

Using 2 additive modules with 2 serial filters (adsr1+2 used and manipulated) synthmaster has a quiet sine-triangle wave ongoing
5x detune, no oversampling
Notice the artifacts in the sound itself (maybe its my CPU?)

Wow that was SynthMaster? Can you post/email the preset so that debugging becomes easier?rectus_dominus wrote:Using 2 additive modules with 2 serial filters (adsr1+2 used and manipulated) synthmaster has a quiet sine-triangle wave ongoing

Will debug tonight dont worry. I'm looking at the EQ becoming unstable bug now.

Currently, Synthmaster has the following drawbacks sound-wise
-Strange saw artifacts (maybe aliasing, or that it is a perfect saw)
-The reverb is not really hands-on, and it needs serious amount of time to make it useful.
-Distortion is somewhat strange for me. Maybe I'm too used to guitar distortion plugs
-LP24 filter with drive acts strange
Bug report:
-Easy 2 can't control Filter1 resonance.
-Managed to freeze it. Used 2 wavetable oscillators with an LP filter. It killed my Live when I waas toying around the WaveIndex knob
Btw may I ask the preset developers to redo some of their sounds? (And use the easy controls?)
Some presets are dupe or simply unusuable.
Easy controls are important because they can be easily used when controlling Synthmaster remotely from the sequencer or using a 8potted controller. As this synth aims to be a musical tool, it needs to be as hands-on as possible. A lot depends on this, I believe.
Tutorial videos are important, too. Mainly the beginner stuff, like basics of wavesequencing and VA synthesis. And of course using the exclusive things as fully as possible.
As a big request, is it possible to add wavetable option into the Additive oscilator? (Using the little wave images. )Having all those fine wavetables. No wavesequencing, but more economic StringMachine sounds, so unison can be spared.

Yes, it's almost perfect saw, which might sound more digital perhaps? In version 2.1 I'll revisit basic waveforms and add some variations to them, so when choosing a saw you'll be able to choose from a variety of saw for instance.rectus_dominus wrote:Currently, Synthmaster has the following drawbacks sound-wise

You're correct on that. I'm planning to work on it this week.rectus_dominus wrote: -The reverb is not really hands-on, and it needs serious amount of time to make it useful.
It's very basic distortion (softclipper). How should it be?rectus_dominus wrote: -Distortion is somewhat strange for me. Maybe I'm too used to guitar distortion plugs
Dont get this?rectus_dominus wrote: -LP24 filter with drive acts strange
We'll have time for this hopefuly in November.rectus_dominus wrote: Tutorial videos are important, too. Mainly the beginner stuff, like basics of wavesequencing and VA synthesis. And of course using the exclusive things as fully as possible.

See my edited post.
LP24 filter with drive even at mid-place can result in a highly altered crackly chingy sound.
About tutorial videos. I don't have a microphone or any other way of proper recording my voice, but I may try to do a few vids with only synth sound and subtitles. Of course based on the manual.
The revisited Saws can be added as waveforms, aren't they? I'm waiting for your answer on the additive WT mode. If it's possible, then there is no need to bother that long with them.
As for the distortion, if I'm right, Lo-Fi and distortion are based on nearly similar algorythms. They can be merged into 1 distortion module, what has 5-6 knobs, and several modes (Like the reverb does)
-Softclip
-Lofi
-Decimate
-and so on...
Beware that I'm just throwing my ideas without thinking how much work is one

Let's add that as a new feature for v2.1rectus_dominus wrote:I'm waiting for your answer on the additive WT mode. If it's possible, then there is no need to bother that long with them.
But before that we have the OSX AU/VSTi release, beware
Nope, they're not! LoFi is kind of a distortion though, we can put it that way.rectus_dominus wrote: As for the distortion, if I'm right, Lo-Fi and distortion are based on nearly similar algorythms.
