Here's an updated set of presets. Up to about 27 (requires v1.19 for some patches):

Well Ctrl+click on Randomize could then randomize JUST the pans...Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sat Dec 26, 2020 7:58 pmRandom panning sounds like fun, until you find that the interaction between the Intensity knob and pan wasn't having the desired effect at low values (very narrow pans), and at extreme values needed to get the pans good and wide, you just made the synth completely out of tune and unplayable. And then a quarter of your pans are still going to be somewhere completely silly. Nah...Gonna disagree on that feature request. Let's keep the random+insensity for slop, and treat Pan like the trimmers on an OB-8 where you pan voices separate from the voice tuning process and as desired.EvilDragon wrote: Sat Dec 26, 2020 7:48 pm I totally would want it personallyGimme more panning flavors! Maybe under Ctrl+click or something.

Nice! I'm currently doing the Jupiter-8 original factory patches. TAL J-8 included 24 of the presets (it seems that it's the ones included with Roland Cloud, that don't have the complete 64 patches of the original Jupiter too), so I took these and I'm filling the missing pieces. As I don't have a JupiterFunkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sat Dec 26, 2020 8:02 pm Here's an updated set of presets. Up to about 27 (requires v1.19 for some patches):

Thanks for sharing Walter!
Possible bug: can anyone confirm that FX Lock is not working? I'm expecting it to lock the delay and chorus settings as I browse presets and that's not happening. They're going back to the preset values with each new preset load.
Also, there's no reference to the FX or FX Lock in the manual at all.

Confirmed.
The earlier betas when the manual was done didn't have fx if I recall, he probably forgot to add them to the manual.

I've heard a couple complaints that TAL's J-8 oscillators aren't as buzzy as Arturia's. But all you have to do is turn the VCO calibration up to around 2-3 and you get Arturia's buzz. Both sound damn good.
I guess if you really need a sequencer, you might go with the Jup-8V. But I'd rather have the UPPER/LOWER layer split offered by the TAL.

Could you explain me more detailed? I activated MPE witht eh button in Bitwig, switched to MPE in 1.19 (MPE button in white outlined).Noumena wrote: Sat Dec 26, 2020 3:05 pm Pitch and volume are the supported MPE parameters... I think that’s hard coded. Enable MPE in the Bitwig inspector, then press the MPE button at the top of the synth’s window, then turn up the MPE pitch and volume controls close to the bottom of the synth window to the desired amount. The volume control at 100% will make pressure map to volume, silencing the attack.
Then I use the "gain" and "pan" parameter in Bitwig's clip editor like this: And here: Both have no effect.

Aha, ok, volume is mapped to pressure. Bitwig also has a dedicated gain parameter, which does not seem to be used by the synth then.
Now still panning does not work.
So my requests would be:
- Please add MPE note panning support. Please implement all possibilites which MPE provides.
- Please consider mapping MPE volume to actual "volume" parameter? (not sure if it is meant like that in MPE)
- I would die for a separate LFO, e.g. for vibrato. Currently I emulate it using a Bitwig-lfo. Often you already are using the LFO for specific PWM or so. Then vibrato is not possible anymore. I really wouldn't care if the original Jup8 was that handicapped, too, IMHO. The plugin still could provide a default "original handicapped mode", and hide extra parameters in an extra view.
- The vibrato LFO might be MPE / per-voice compatible, too. Then the pressure parameter could be freed for such purpose?
- The chorus should provide the same controls as your TAL-chorus-lx plugin, so amount, stereo spread etc. It also could be hidden on an additional page.
Thanks for consideration.

It would be nice to have an additional LFO, indeed, even though the original didn't have it. 1 LFO for some kind of modulation and then you have to use an external one for something simple like vibrato is the only solution, yes. I use Reaper's MIDI automation module. You can actually have a lot of LFOs that way if the parameters react to automation smoothly. I'm often forced to use the external LFO/automation. It's very handy that a lot of DAWs can do that. Well, parameter automation is an incredible feature in itself, especially for those who are used to hardware.
Sometimes you wish you had 4 hands to be able to automate hardware in real-time.

There are definitely some things I'd like see added to J-8 e.g. round robin option for voices, simultaneous panel editing, reverse Sync direction etc. But there comes a point where I feel like adding too many things would just make it TAL MOD.
I think I saw a post much earlier in this thread saying that they would have like to have seen a bigger update to TAL MOD instead. There is a part of me that does share that feeling. Don't get me wrong I'm really having fun with J8, But there are times where I'm having issues justifying it's utility when I also have TAL UNO and MOD.
I just love what Patrick does so much I don't think twice about supporting him.
Just my 2¢
