Honestly, that seems like too much of both product and expense for someone just starting out. The Exchange bundles at GC and MF seem far more appropriate for that purpose (except for the fact that StudioOne is a big reeking turd)

What I understand is that there are three retail versions of Indy:Jazz Mackerel wrote:Yeah, that's the typical price I've seen it at. I think you are confusing the Independence Pro Software Suite with Independence Pro, which comes with both the Software Suite and a 70GB lib.
Suite, with only 2GB lib
Basic, with 12 GB
Pro, with 70 GB
I think the Suite looks like great value, Indy is like Kontakt in that it is hung down by old factory content. To be able to buy only the software at such a nice price is cool. Looks like a great replacement for shortcircuit
A big plus with Indy Suite is that one can load VSTi's into it.

Yes. Both items.Numanoid wrote:Did you receive it yesterday?beau921 wrote:My tracking number says both the software and keyboard will arrive tomorrow. If so, then they did fulfill their obligation and sale what they had in stock.

And, in case it's of any interest to anyone (since occasionally you only receive a dvd case with a download card inside), the Vintage Vault installer is on a USB stick inside the box.

Cool that it worked out
So how big is that USB stick, 64 GB?beau921 wrote:And, in case it's of any interest to anyone (since occasionally you only receive a dvd case with a download card inside), the Vintage Vault installer is on a USB stick inside the box.

Actually, now that you mention it, I don't know. I haven't installed it, yet.Numanoid wrote:Cool that it worked out

Maybe it still has to download something, and whatever is on the USB drive is just for convenience toward downloading.
The instruction sheet says:
1) Install UVI Workstation
2) Install Vintage Vault Instruments
3) Activate your license
All that would seem obvious steps to take. So, not sure if it wanders over to their website for some of that install.

It would be pretty cool if a 64GB USB stick (or something at that capacity) was included in the deal. Those still cost a bit of money.

I picked up an extra copy of "Cubase 7 with free upgrade to version 8" when it was blown out last week at MF.

So is that just a serial in a box? Or is the software provided on usb? Also, is the license pre-installed on the included key, or is the key blank?dream22 wrote:I picked up an extra copy of "Cubase 7 with free upgrade to version 8" when it was blown out last week at MF.

I just noticed the deal I mentioned went up a little in price, it is now $299 for the Arturia Producer Pack 49 key with Bitwig and MiniV. Still a good deal though.

Also noticed they have basically the same deal but with the 61 key MIDI keyboard for $314.10

I must urge caution when considering an Arturia controller. I bought the 61 key version and the Pitch wheel broke the very first time I used it. The Arturia had a very cheap overall build quality....perhaps that's changed but I doubt it. I replaced it with an Akai MPK261 which is built like a tank and is an awesome controller that also came with some great software. Air Music Tech Hybrid 3, Vacuum Pro, Loom, and MPC Essentials, Sonivox 88, Twist, and another one which I can't remember at this time (never installed any of the Sonivox stuff but the Air Music synths have become some of my favorites).

From my meager time with the Arturia controllers in a couple of music store sessions, I'd agree. The control knobs and wheels were extremely loose. I doubt it was from all the demo time on them (as only the dirt cheap Alesis controllers had the same issue out of numerous controllers on display). Definitely a try before you buy I'd say.

I demo'd the Arturia in a music store before buying it and fell in love with the feel of the keyboard and action. It didn't seem too flimsy at the time of the demo but I got one new in the box home and the pitch wheel spring broke on the first use. It wasn't until I got my Akai and compared the two that the poor build quality of the Arturia became painfully obvious. I'd never buy another Arturia and you'd have to kill me to get my Akai away from me..........
