This is actually a very good idea! MusicXML can store guitar tabs too! I'll look into it, probably it is not that hard to export it, at least the guitar tab part as the first step.

Thanks, thebutler!

Very nice to have the addition of audio-to-MIDI.

I'm also all-for any possible ins/outs via MusicXML.

Thanks Attila!

Understood. I'm the same.!

Though, looking carefully, the app itself is a 'Lifetime license one-time payment' (you only pay for any future major version upgrades - if you want to.!).

Subscription option only applies to the 'MySongbook' portal, for access to a ton of popular song TABs for download.

Glad I was able to give a useful pointer... ;-)

As an aside, there is no printout option, to provide direct hardcopy from within RC, is there..?

Whatever... if you can get the MusicXML export to work, that brings a deal of flexibility to build on for the future. It'll just need taking to another app to produce the hardcopy.

PS - also, please when you get a minute, see here this other (unrelated) topic

Does it store the fingering information?

That isn't the original site. He stopped working on it and other people are now maintaining that. It is because of that, I don't recommend it..

But, in any case.. GP is definitely better choice..

No, there is no hardcopy (or any kind of printing functionality) in RC.

Today I implemented your idea, so exporting MusicXML works now. At the moment only the guitar tab is exported, but soon the whole composition can be exported as MusicXML...
I am going to upload a new beta version in about 15 minutes.

Thanks!

RapidComposer v5.3b12 is available!

Improvements:
  • Exporting guitar tab as a MusicXML file (from the track inspector)
  • 'Panic' (and its shortcut key) also stops phrase preview
  • Earlier macOS versions (10.13 and 10.14) are now supported by the audio to MIDI conversion

Where can I find the Audio to MIDI conversion that I can see messages about?
I am on Windows. Is it only in the macOS version?

Drop audio on to empty area of work space, then, right click to view the inspector. Click the gear icon on tab..

Had a crash.. I was working on building a phrase library of some kinds of basic riffs for guitar.. So, working in Ample Sounds VST, I am building a riff and then dropping that into RC. I had to redo one and deleted the phrase because to get the guitar view I had to change the key switch range. In this case, I just increased it by one note, from a B1 to a C2 for the second field. Once I deleted the phrase to drop it again, it froze..

Sorry I bother you!
Isn't there any update or another way for Windows 7 to solve that kernel issue I mentioned?
With this error, lots of Windows 7 users are deprived of future updates. :(

Thanks!

Hey yea, if you could.. The midi import needs a tweaking (the drop stuff).. Some VST's will use two sets of key switches, the range you would expect, but, also, optionally notes really high, like A8, or A7 and up..

So, maybe add an additional range, maybe with a check box, for this..

Because of this, it fouls up the guitar view, as it's out of finger range..

I'm basing this on guitar, but, in actuality, some orchestral instruments would have high key switches too.. like maybe a flute or piccolo.. so, the range thing could apply to those as well.

I am sorry, I tried building with an older version of the onnxruntime library but it did not build.
All I can say is that Windows 7 is not supported since v5.0. However you'll be able to use v5.3 because it won't have the audio-to-MIDI stuff.

Thanks,
Attila
