MP3 toolkit is free today, it can function as a simple little audio editor, as it can cut and splice some audio formats, and also record incoming audio

The download from Giveawayoftheday contains a serial number, so I think if one downloads the prog/demo from the dev, one can authorize it any time with that serial

I want this controller... It's a bargain compared to a Minimoog...
The SoundForce SFC-Mini Controller... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/so ... controller
It works with MiniV, Monark, MiniMonsta, iMini and more. Imagine this controller with an XKey and a USB Stick PC that boots into a standalone Minimoog emulation. I can pretend I own a Minimoog.

It's kickstarter campaign is ending this week, but they're only halfway to their goal. Did I mention that I really want this?
Here is a link to the video that shows how to set it up...
And one that shows it in action...
And JMJ talking about how he prefers NI Monark to today's Moog synths. Crazy...

I feel fine
I must admit though, Monark is pretty damn awesome. I'm not not outrageously wild about the modulation options but hey, that's me.
Ha ha suck it!

Too bad SoundForce isn't doing deeper synths. It's great playing with the JP-08 because there's so much going on and so much room for experimentation. Minimoog's, Juno 60's, and SH-101's, OTOH, I could program in my sleep and don't really need knob boxes for.mikebenson wrote:I want this controller... It's a bargain compared to a Minimoog...

I'm more excited about using it for live tweaking during recording, and not so much for the programming. Also, I hope Roland update the firmware on those boutique synths to enable CC's so we can use them to control other synths, and automate them in the DAW.Uncle E wrote:Too bad SoundForce isn't doing deeper synths. I just heard some good news about the SFC-Mini over on gearslutz. The first units are already in progress...

Monark is fake, it should have a built-in feature where the oscillators are detuning after 45 minutes of use and you have to stop and re-tune them.Apostate wrote: I must admit though, Monark is pretty damn awesome. I'm not not outrageously wild about the modulation options but hey, that's me.

considering you can already tweak the drift and leakage of the oscillators in Monark's back panel, i'm sure it's doable to add a timer in Reaktor. If you want the most authentic experience.ksandvik wrote:Apostate wrote: I must admit though, Monark is pretty damn awesome. Which you can already do with the plethora of cheaply available controllers, you have GAS.mikebenson wrote:

These are way overpriced and under spec'd when compared to the competing products

Have to agree here and don't even let me comment about the chosen colors or the clunky look of the knobs etc.VariKusBrainZ wrote:Which you can already do with the plethora of cheaply available controllers, you have GAS.mikebenson wrote:

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

I can use any other general purpose controller, and I always have GAS, and IBS... Inevitable Buying Syndrome.VariKusBrainZ wrote:Which you can already do with the plethora of cheaply available controllers, you have GAS.mikebenson wrote:

I've tried those types of controllers before, and none of them have satisfied me... Panorama P1, Maschine, Push, Beatstep, BCR2000... iPad with Lemur, TB MIDI Stuff, MIDI Designer... Also, some great synths that were not knob per function too... Ultranova, Virus Ti Snow, Venom, ESQ-1, M50. I bought and sold all of these over the last few years.
I've never owned a special purpose, knob per function "instrument" before, and I'm jealous to have that type of connection with the sound. Less menu diving, mousing around, paging, looking at a screen, and touching a flat featureless surface. More tactile control, muscle memory and connection to the guts of the sound.
$200 to try a simple knob per function controller isn't too expensive. And it can still be used with other plugins.
