Regardles of this Q-clone thing(I have no idea what you guys are arguing about). This thread has transformed my mixes. I'm going to settle with PLParEQ3 for mastering (big thanks to Mammoth for making sure the message went into my thick skull)and probably get the KjaerhusEQ7(?) for the rest. Seriously my mixes sound so much better already. Cheers

I have heard great stuff about the Algorithmix stuff http://www.algorithmix.com/en/peq1.htm
Some people are even comparing those eq's to the Weiss hardware boxes !! ( $ 5 k ++ )
As far as I know Algorithmix have liscenced quite a few of their "less complex" algorithms to companies such as Waves....
They are quite pricy though...

<Rapture> Tsk, it's [new processors] as bad as penis comparisons, really.
<rejs> but penises don't double in performance every 18 months...

Request a demo of them and compare it to PLParEQ. You'll be surprised.discretemachine wrote:I have heard great stuff about the Algorithmix stuff http://www.algorithmix.com/en/peq1.htm

I have to agree with some on here.. Voxengo Curve Eq is just great, even with the latency I think it is also a great track EQ.. Its NOt only for mastering,, BUt the Kjaerhus GE-7 is just as good especially on the low end, I use em both all the time and are better than Posihfopit, which is not as warm as the GE-7, but nonetheless a great free plug

may be... but then, the algorithmix is a lot more money than the plpareq. especially when you consider that the 3 band version is free.fritzman wrote:Request a demo of them and compare it to PLParEQ. You'll be surprised.![]()
has anyone had a chance to compare them both side by side? if so, is the algorithmix worth the big difference in cost?

I agree, but although PLParEQ is 2/3 the price of Algorithmix, at $1000 it's still out of most people's reach.fritzman wrote:Request a demo of them and compare it to PLParEQ. Unless they extended it, the 3 band is now defunct, but for those who were on the ball (and donated), we have lifetime updates.sidrat wrote:may be... but then, the algorithmix is a lot more money than the plpareq. especially when you consider that the 3 band version is free.fritzman wrote:Request a demo of them and compare it to PLParEQ.
