RG has now been out for 3 years and 3 months. (VST)
Yeah, but you don't want to run Version 1.0, do you? ;-)
Not to make lite of a sore subject, and I do indeed apologize that it is taking so long. As the Biz Dev guy at the company it is actually my fault that I didn't realize they were updating as often as they were. I thought 1.5 was their latest, not realizing that they had released several more versions and we were terribly out of synch with their update cycle. Now we are caught up and current, and I'm happy to say we're in beta with 2.1
Early beta test results with version 2.1 have identified a few bugs in the pattern functions, but they haven't been confirmed. There are a couple of other beta testers who have just jumped in (thanks Phil!), and they haven't reported any problems yet, so we're trying to get to the bottom of it...
You're welcome to test it as well if you'd like, please PM Farhan if you want to join...
As for the current plan, this will be one of Ricks top priorities right after Komplete 4 beta is complete... shouldn't be more than a week or two.
Regards,
Groovology (bryan)

Hey Groovology I really did not mean to be te slightest bit rude.
I simply feel that when you come up with a scheme that allows a user to install plugs as they are released (vst mainly I guess) you will rule the world. Until then IMHO, it's very hard to justify the cost of a receptor considering that a user commonly ends up late to the game. I understand how for some people this is not a problem but in the world of TV and especially commercials, you've got to have the latest and greatest stuff to keep your head above water.
Just as a point of interest, I think I got RG in 7/04, did my first ad (Toyota Branding "Moving Forward") pretty much featuring RG a few days later. So although it was a little buggy, it worked good enough to use on several projects.
There's a big world out there waiting for a rock solid, non PC, dead silent box that can simply run a few VST plugs easily to take the load off of the main recording mac (or pc).
Right now most of us run stacks of PC's...VisionDaw stuff or the sort for gigastudio. I have not seen many Receptors simply because of the difficulty with....well, we've already discussed that.
Sorry for writing such a long note.
Best,
rw

HI RW...by any chance did you used to be a Emulator user? I think I know you from my Emu days...
Believe me, I completely get what you're saying, and it is our number one priority to get some of these matters addressed once and for all.
I think that those who hang on with us just a while longer will find that some of the technology we have developed has long reaching benefits for everyone...
I'd be happy to discuss this in private if you wish, and I hope you understand that we are not insensitive to what you guys want and need, our target is universal compatibility... that's not easy when you don't run a windows OS!
Cheers

Hey Bryan,
I used a few Emulators off and on but had a Ensoniq Mirage as my first "high end" sampler..... and when I was scoring the Power Rangers stuff back in 1992 we had a stack of Kurzweil (I think 2500's) that took about 45 minutes to load all the sounds from optical disks. So I've been in the game for a while. LOL!
I understand how hard it is not using windows OS which naturally was a great decision on your part as there was no reason to make another rack mountable PC.
I'd be glad to learn about where you're headed with things but only if you though I could add any advice that could help you coming from ther perspective of a composer in the trenches. Let me know and I'll shoot you my email or something.
Hope you're having a nice weekend.

RON!!! Bryan Lanser here... I remember you from E-MU for sure! Weren't you in a band called Fisher who did the soundtrack for Great Expectations? I thought that fishermusic sounded familiar...
Anyway, love to chat with you when you have some time.
All the best
Bryan (groovology)

Hi Bryan
Thanks for the update
I'm really looking forward to using the receptor live - unfortunately I need Komplete to make this happen.
My Korg Trinity is starting to die.
Again, if you need volunteers to help beta - I'm keen.
Cheers
Kim
