damn Mr. Piz, those awesome!
how hard would it be to make a SysEx plug that sends and stores/records SysEx messages. Not for editing purposes, but for archiving hardware synth patches on songs..

Just got to try these in Live 7/OS X.
They appear as VST audio effects in Live, which means no go.
No midi or audio can be passed through them.
I think the only 2 ways to make midi plug ins for Live are:
1. Make an "instrument" version, just compiled as an instrument and Live will let it pass midi internally.
2. Provide midi out from the plugin directly to a dropdown list of interfaces (for use with internal routing, IAC bus, Midi Yoke, etc...)

yup, i need to compile "instrument" versions. i think cubase needs that too. next week i'll provide them as instruments for windows and mac.

+1 for xysex plugin.
but... will it work with nicfit midi out?
standing ovation for midimonitor and midipads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
some suggestions:
* in sliders mode the icons could move with the cursor position.
* the color selection is nice but i think that selectable color for each pad\slider is the best. so there is no need of an icon to distinguish a pad from another...
* an option to choose the number of pads to use. if it is too hard, fixed number of pads could be used (for example 4, 16, 64 pads\sliders). the 4pad setup is usefull using sliders, because many times there is no need of a large number (=large space on monitor\touch monitor) of controllers.

some minor issues
* when the pads are triggered form midi there is not any visual signal.
* the vertical space between the pads is different from horizontal. it's not so nice to see.
* if no icon is loaded the text can take central position on the pad. in sliders mode the text could be wrote vertically or small on the top
* sometimes the dots go slightly out of the pad with a bad visual effect...
what use are the last 2 sliders on the top?
where can i find other svg icons? is there a free collection around? how can i create them?

* if nothing is witten in the label the image could take more space.

* midipads bug: the trigger note (note from external controller to trigger a pad) is not saved in the preset!!

plugin request: easy octave transpose
seven resizable pads (similar to midipads ones) that allow to transpose the incoming midi signal by octaves.
and a orizontal slider with 12 steps to transpose by semitone.
-36 -24 -12 0 +12 +24 +36
|-----------------------|
the other transposers i tryed are often tedious. i nees something that allows quick octave transpose in live and studio with the best usability possible.
usefull for simple 49keys controllers with no traspose buttons.
bug report midipads: when i use it with touch screen i almost press aother pad before the release of the previous pad. sice the touchscreen i'm using is not a multitouch, some pads do not recive release message... o some pads continue to play the note untill are triggered another time. i think that that problem can be solveed adding a "mono option" in the main menù, so everytime a pad is played the previous pad is turned off (send note off).
the "mono option" could be set by default because poly mode is needed only when external midi triggering is used.

easy transpose idea: i thinks it's good to integrate may ideas in a complete plugin.
i saw on the to do list a "somethingh like trollo" point.
and some time ago i talked about a resizable keyboard.
why not to integrate the trollo like idea with the easy transpose (ranspose by octave clicking or touching pads) and with the resizable keyboard.
i tested midipads and i can say that is very complete and useful in many situations, in studio work and live. the same concetp can be applied to a keyboard-like midi controller.
i think that a two octave kaeyboard is good for every situation but the best is a selectable number of octaves (more octaves = smaller kays)
another solution could be a zoomable keyboard with scrollbar but i think it's confusing...
the transpose coltrols take all the space possible on the top of the keyboard
* right click on keys to learn the ascii to associate to the note (it will be visualized on the key)
* some presets for instant use
* transpose contols can be asoociated to ascii
* mono poly mode
* some previous midi algorithms (notch filter, mirror and expecially force to key) could be integrated
* pitch mod sliders (as big as possible)
* velocity of notes defined by the position of the click\touch
* resizable iterface (the most important things like keys transpose have to be easily accessible
)
* all the processing will be applied to the notes generated by clicking and to the incoming midi
i think that it's not necessary to reproduce the classical piano keyboard with the black keys shorter than the white ones... all the keys could have the same dimension. if possible the two styles could be choosen as an option
