Interface is really spartan.. people complain about Kontakt's text size, but this is as bad if not worse. Tried dragging and dropping samples from FL's browser to it, didn't work, inexplicably. I can't click and drag on any loaded sample on the keyboard to move it around, nor are there any options on right click. I'd best describe this thing as "unintuitive"... maybe someone can shed some light?
Of course, any developer releasing free, well-made software deserves some thanks, not trying to be rude here. Just describing my thoughts after spending a bit of time with it. For the record, I haven't really had any difficulty with other samplers (Kontakt, Kompakt, Intakt, Samplelord, sfz, Directwave, etc)

o create a new group
o drag the sfz onto SC1
o select all samples
o right click and move to new group
o rename the new group"

To move a sample drag one edge to the right place then drag the other.sonicfire wrote:yup, that one thing annoys me as well ... but besides this, it's a powerful samplerzircon wrote:(...) I can't click and drag on any loaded sample on the keyboard to move it around, (...)

I agree about SC1 - SC2 looks fantastic to me though.original flipper wrote:HI
I remember someone (Sickle666?) saying how much SC looked like a spreadsheet!
Perhaps this was part of the problem with sales: the thing just looked plain ugly!
I don't understand a few things about SC2 yet but haven't discovered any serious issues/shortcomings so far (the missing disk-streaming aside)

A much larger zone-mapping area? Many more effects? Less CPU?Shane Sanders wrote:As a DirectWave owner, is there any reason for me to investigate this? Anything about it that will blow my mind?

How do you open the Group editor, where you can see the samples stacked according their velocity? Or has this editor been removed from the latest version? (It's not listed on the wiki help page.)
If it's been removed, how do you add a sample on the same key but at a different velocity range? (I see how to set the velocity range in the Names and Ranges box.)

No more need for FPC for me
This is the drum sampler I was waiting for. I also own directwave, but it isn't good for one shot samples.
Thank you very much, Claes!

Hey everybody at vemberaudio!
Thanks a lot for this cool stuff. I hope this wasn't the story from vemberaudio. Looking forward for (perhaps) Shortcircuit 3 ? Even if I have to pay for...
Very nice work, Claes...
Best wishes
