Hmm, technically it is not possible top make system so slow, except one thing - driver process - which means an antivirus. Normal processes without changed priorities cannot take over the system, since the task manager has the same priority. Please try to disable your antivirus (or any other resident software).

I just wanted to give a quick update on my progress. I have a download limit of about 7.5GB a month. I could not download such a big file on my own account, so I had a friend start the download for me on his computer. I support having a DVD available, because torrents wouldn't help me. It would still be too big a file for me to get. A big set of RAR files would be okay, if I could download 100-200 MB a day. It would take me 2 weeks or more to download all the RARs, but that's better than not being able to download the big file at all.
Anyway, so far the download has been on for nearly 24 hours, and according to my friend, it is still running fine. It is at about 60% with about 16 hours left. Hopefully, we'll have it tomorrow. We are getting the file mdrummer2_large_2_05_setup.exe.

The torrent is running beter than the direct download for me as well. Looks like it might finish up tonight.RyanG wrote:The torrent works fine for me using uTorrent. It's a bit slow, but that's to be expected with only one seeder. As more people finish the download it'll get faster.
The installer kept locking up/stopping for me so hopefully this works.

I got a download error at the very end. My file size is 3,647,890.
I tried using the updated installer posted elsewhere in this thread but it started downloading the file again from scratch.
If I try to run the downloaded file, I get "Source compressed stream has invalid content"

oh i see, the updated installer downloads with a different file name
the original installer saved as the files as mdrummer2_large_2_05_setup.exe
the updated installer uses mdrummer2_large_setup.exe.
i renamed the file and now it is verifying.
lets see what happens

I finally got it downloaded and verified and got the message that it wasn't downloaded correctly.
It gave me the option to fix by cross-checking with server, so I said Yes.
Now it says it will take 8 more hours to do this step?
What's next??

I finally got it downloaded.
I ran the installer up to the point where it prompts for license key.
Please send.
After installation, I guess I need to run the small 7 meg update file available on web site?

Hey guys, sorry for the delay, but it was night
.
Anyway I should respond and sum it all up:
1) When you finish download, you run the bigger file, the small one is only a downloader.
2) Problem with the update manager - when it says "invalid resource...", it means that it did not download the update correctly. I suspect the server might get disconnected. It usually happens on slower connections. You can try againm, or you can download an EXE installer from the download site, which does the some, but no more internet connections...
3) I should resolve the mess with the filenames - when we started this action, the downloader was creating version 2.03, which is represented by
mdrummer2_large_setup.exe
When we finished uploading the 2.05 version we also put there a new downloader for it, which creates
mdrummer2_large_2_05_setup.exe
(I know there should have been the version number in the first case too, but...not enough foresight)
The important is - those files are different!
So when you download one, change the name and use the other downloader to finish/fix hime, then I'm pretty surprised it worked
. It is probably because those files are very similar and the differencies are probably at the end of the file.
Anyway what happend was this - there were about 3 cases, when the downloaded file was not correct (downloader can test it). But since we did not expect this to happen, there were no fixing. So when the first case occured, I improved the downloader, so when it founds an error, it corrects it. And since I thought most of you are still downloading the 2.03 version, I made it correct this version too. It was called
mdrummer2_large_setuponline_fix.exe
And since this might have happened for the new 2.05 version too, I updated the downloader on the site too.
So when you want to fix 2.03 version, use the fix I posted the link somewhere in the forum.
When you want to fix 2.05 version, just get new downloader.
Ufff, I hope it is more clear now
.

Okay Melda, got Mdrummer up and running! Should I download the newest update now? And how would you like us to begin submiting bugs/ideas? I think it would be best to keep using this forum, then everyone else can see, too.

Originally I thought we should use e-mail, but you're probably right. This way there would not be repeated reports. Maybe if there is something really important, e-mail is faster.
Anyway use and enjoy and if you find something to be improved/fixed, do not hesitate!

Maybe you should try to get your own KVR sub-forum? You already have a lot of FX plugins out there and people seem to like them a lot, so I imagine Ben would indulge you.MeldaProduction wrote:Great!
