I think Ingonator should lay low on this subject, he is clearly on "Team Xhun".
The intention might be to help, but it totally comes off the wrong way, and therefor doesn't do Xhung a favor.
Anyway....
I don't know if the possibilities of Synth Edit are too restricted, to create a virtual synthesizer that makes a difference, a synth that matters if you want.
Somebody mentioned Sylenth1. If that synth was created with Synth Edit, then it would be possible to create a substantial VSTi with Synth Edit. And not just some half-assed freeware.
The idea to emulate a "small" Moog synthesizer strikes me as interesting. But in order for this concept to work, the VSTi had to be phenomenal in recreating the original punch, kick, and sound of this particular Moog synthesizer.
Is that the case? I would like to read some critiques by musicians who know about the subject in and out.
There are other VSTi based on Moog synthesizers, with the Minimonsta being my favorite. But that doesn't mean that there is no room for a scaled down Moog. But it has to deliver. It soooooooooooooooo has to deliver in an oustanding way, cause otherwise it might just get in line with thousands of obscure freeware tools. Tools that do a little bit, something like the hardware it was modeled after, but then again......not really.
AKA, a waste of time.
And that should be the question here; after posting heaps of funny FAIL pictures and having a good laugh, does this VSTi deliver???
Claiming to emulate a Moog is a gutsy statement, does the "LittleOne" live up to it?
Here is an example of hot air that nobody needs, based on great instruments. The Superwave D909 & D808.
If those VSTi would deliver the sound of the hardware they were built after, it would be fantastic. And for 10$ a piece it would be the bargain of the century. So they don't have the internal drum-sequencer, who cares.
But the sound sucks! You might as well record tennis balls bouncing off a wall. It's light years away from the accomplishments of a D16 Group.
With that in mind, back to the "LittleOne"; does it deliver?
BTW, on a side note, the xhun-audio website needs a complete overhaul, it's terrible. Wouldn't you start by introducing your product to get customers interested?
