Yes, I agree that there would have to be a different analogue FM implementation in Diva to get closer (not to mention a bit more easily too ;) ). Though even a perfect emulation would always be that last few percent from the original because the original was probably recorded through a speaker/amp - as you yourself said :)
btw in my patch i always put "kvrforum" as author....never my name or anyones. it's a joint effort between anyone who participated actively in the thread (with suggestions, criticism and what not).
Yep, np.. I was a bit more explicit only so nobody was under the impression I'd "hijacked" the previous efforts which underpinned it ;)

Regarding suggestions for other "famous" sounds - It helps if someone knows the original synth source used in a recording. If you request a sound where Diva actually includes a model of the synth (or its filter!) then there is a much better likelihood that Diva will do that sound well. Otherwise you are more likely to end up with cheesy/cheap sounding imitations. Kenkraft 400? - Commodore SID chip. Yazoo, Don't Go? - Arp 2600. Europe's The final Countdown? - Joey Tempest and some laxatives. If someone wants Oberheim sounds then you'll probably get much better results (and certainly more easily) by using something (OP-X) which emulates an Oberheim.

No harm in trying anyway, of course, and sometimes its a good way to work around limitations and learn things. Indeed the Yazoo "Don't Go" sound is a good example of that in action. But it's a relatively good copy partly "in spite" of Diva rather than because of it, since Diva currently doesn't offer analogue FM in a way that's required to copy that particular sound well. Overall, whilst I like having "a stab" at copying sounds (no better way to learn a synth and its limitations because you must bend it to do your will), it's also helpful if Diva actually emulates the synth :)
