z-prime, along the top right there are toggles for the formant filter, as well as delay, chorus and mod matrix, but in the free version you don't have access to the controls other than turning them on or off. it was discussed earlier that there were ways to manipulate them, either through automation or metadata (that would be beyond me to explain). i lucked(?) out that the formant filter made my snare sound like the the singer (ehhh, maybe vocalist) from cannibal corpse.

Thanks, I completely missed what that button does! :dog:

Is it safe to assume by the lack of dissension that these glorified eq are okay? (Will quite possibly drive the direction of my track)
My answer is obviously far from authoritative, but as far as I'm concerned, if the effect is doing filtering but not any pitch shifting, and if the sound is not transformed beyond recognition, it is fine.

Anyway, looks like you may not need to use an external formant filter this month after all :)

Thas is it. Nobody needs to worry about an extreme effect always that comes built-in the synth itself.
About external formant filters, no idea if they are allowed, i never saw anyone using them. Let's wait for V'ger.

Have a good day :)

in both Cubase and Live it takes about 20-30 seconds for EACH INSTANCE to load :(
A wild guess: this may have something to do with the license authentication (latency of calling home perhaps?). I'm now noticing some slowdown as I load more instances of the demo version, which never happened with the free version.

About using the formant filter in Minimoog-V that is of course Ok as it's a feature of the synth, its paramaters are available via native UI or automation or even via the synth's script files so can be edited freely.

By the way, anyone else find the built-in chorus really amazing? Or is it just in combination with the moog sound that it stands out?
SKYZONE wrote:Because of cpu overload i play for example a riff and then resampled it with fruityloops so yes at that point it is vast no more changing .
Anyway it always lead to somewere , i dont change pitch just use the sample as it is you can reversed it and that gives a other change for using that sample
Reversing a sampled part is not allowed as that would create something the synth couldn't do by itself. :smack: (ah there, finally a chance to smack someone on the head, lol) :D

Well, payware version of minimoog is protected with activation code which you download from Arturia. Normally you store this code on usb dongle or on your hard drive. The activation codes are normally checked durring you load your project in the DAW with 'open project.../open set... whatever'.
I don't think that Arturia requires internet connection to open an minimoog vst overwise - does it make sense to use an usb dongle?

Sound & chorus for me. :tu: Sound its crystal clear and this low cpu usage...! Chorus is rich and makes the sound really wide unless I don't push too much rate and depth cause it rather quickly gets too much detuned. But I will always admire chorus from Synth1 freebie especially for its warmth...

Is it just me or is the Mini-Vs interface too small? I am squinting just to see it.

No it's not only you.. I am with you on this one.. fonts are too small and not very clear, plus the reflections on the knobs gives me a headache.

Exactly, these labels are super tiny. No matter if you have a super zoom, the words and labels are blurry. So it is impossible to know what is written on it.

Anyway, too many people know this synth, so not a big problem at all.

Have a good day :)

To recognize buttons function I checked Arturia documentation for Minimooog. The documentation is quite clear.

Can I submit a entry until the last day of the month?
