I agree, the GUI could get better usability wise.

Of course there will be documentation when it is a released product. It is not even beta yet, just an alpha preview. In the meanwhile, if you are interested to explore Bazille and need help, you can ask here in the forum. There are plenty of helpful people here.

Justin, I've had my nose in synthesizers before... most signal paths make sense to me AND most synths have a learning curve... buying Reackor may have worked for you, but I like U-he... I feel they are good enough for what I need in general. Reactor is just overkill for me
As far as my "ignorance" well, I USUALLY catch on fast. The interface is a facade to get to the engine... this time it's old school modular. it's a bit funny, the most expensive sound design tool I've seen (Kyma, a software Hardware combo) has the uglyest most boring interface around.
I chose U-he for the sound, the deep options in Zebra are why it's on my Mac... same with Ableton... the interface is just window dressing. But folk like to use old interfaces... Diva is a good example, huge and knobby. Psychology more than plays into it's design.
As I read back, many of my comments seem.... deranged
Urs must think I'm a loon!
And it doesn't help that I AM a bit loony on top of it all!
BTW, my health is improving very fast, the Surgeons were brilliant! I feel quite good... just a bit crazy from all the fear, pharmaceuticals and occasional pain. No noxious potions since last week!

It's all good. As I said, it's not my intention to be abrasive or condescending. We all choose what works best for us because only we are qualified to make that choice. I'm a big proponent of Bazille AND Zebra. They are my two favorite soft synths. I still wouldn't put one above the other because they are so different but...
That's just my opinion.
I wish you a quick recovery.

Look here, I love Bazille from only the very few days I've been able to actually locate a stupid download for it and try it. What's the deal with getting access to this supposed freeware in the first place? Next, for crying out loud! No presets to get us started or at least a few pages of manual to explain ANYTHING?! Did I learn to drive a car blindfolded.
I'd like to like it even more, but this whole scenario reeks of weird or just plain careless. Can someone enlighten me here?
Oh, and the other fishy business. Does it go dead in a year, as some intimated or what? Is this freeware or not? Deathware? With a one-year lifespan until you are required to beg for a renew? Yeah, we just start to get somewhere with it and then it keels over? What's the actual story . . . please. I hate mysteries and having my time potentially wasted.

Allow me to help.
It's ALPHA ware... it works, and there ARE patches to study! BEHOLD:
Now U-he has generously released this plugin to both distribute for bug-eval by long time U-he friends and associates, as well as adventuresome U-he customers of other product that comment and even whine a lot (... me...).
If you can figger it out, GO for it, make some patches for the library... GO NUTS. No money required... for now.
if you like it, a year from now the refined version of Bazzille will appear. A software euro-rack for around 300 bucks!
And YOU'LL KNOW HOW IT WORKS!!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT!!!
(m-kay Urs, where my free copy of Podolski? We had a deal!)

TomTwohy,
Whoa! Thank you so much! I have never seen that patch page before, Did Google for some and got nowhere.
I must say, Bazille looks way too fantastic and works far too well for any alpha -- at least any I have ever seen. Thanks finally for someone being straight about the situation with this marvelous modular! So psyched, gotta go wire my little bacterium up!
