At that point I'd just rather say get a bass guitar and overdrive it.

I know. I've nothing agains 7-string guitars down to A. But anything lower I just can't digest well.

Hmmm, even lower tuning.... that's potentially doable. One major feature I want to try and do is totally customizable keyswitches, but it would require a lot of work. I feel like once we get this update out (which is already pretty nice IMO) our process will be a lot faster and we could do it in, say, 1.2

Also, I remember watching a video from some dudes known as Spitfire Audio and they had some kind of method for creating a larger "String Section" form their small string sections that they had sampled...
Lemme see if I can find the video...
I think it would be cool if you guys did some transposing tricks like in the video to help simulate some quad tracked guitars, eh? I think that
would be pretty rad. I know some people have asked about Quad Tracking with Shreddage 2... Perhaps this is something you guys could look in to as well?

Watching that video, it looks like they have two ways of beefing up sections:
1. Use neighboring round robins
2. Transpose from adjacent zones
We actually use both these techniques in Shreddage 2. Our double-tracking is built on using two separate RRs simultaneously to mimic two separate guitar tracks. There's also an option on the Engine page that enables more variation by using transposition from adjacent zones.
That being said, that gives me an idea. We could in theory create a 3rd and 4th guitar by using transposed zones, but if we were to do this, guitars 3 + 4 would not be able to use the 'extra variation' feature. For example, DT Guitar 3 could use transposed zones 1 whole tone lower, and Guitar 4 could use zones 1 whole tone higher.

Hi Andrew,I ask you again if there are plans for future updates about feedback,I think it would be a great improvement,in every metal subgenre in broadly used.If you have the opportunity take a look at V-Metal feedback which is very good.

I don't think that will go in for 1.1 but perhaps for 1.2 or future. Right now we just integrated all the new FX, release + pick noises, the new vibrato mode, and QUAD TRACKING is sounding real nice (using the zone transposition method).

OK everyone, here is the latest beta for Shreddage 2.1. Please test this out - I think this should wrap it up barring any additional bugs, plus we'll be redoing the wallpaper as well. Make sure to report any bugs or problems!
Shreddage 2.1 Patch (June 27th)
Shreddage 2.1 FX Patch (June 27th)
Shreddage 2.1 New Samples (June 26th)
(unpack these samples in the Shreddage II Samples folder)
CHANGELOG
-------
Shreddage 2.1 Changelog
* QUAD TRACKING is possible with the addition of guitars 3 and 4. By effectively creating two new and unique sample pools, you can now layer up to FOUR guitar tracks with no phase issues.
* REWRITTEN FRETTING / FINGERING ENGINE: Shreddage 2.1 is now even more realistic and accurate when intelligently selecting frets and strings based on your input. To accompany this complete rewrite, we've also added controls for things like virtual hand size and fret minimum / maximum preference if you want to change the engine's behavior to suit your tastes.
* SPLIT MIDI CHANNELS: When enabled, this assigns input from MIDI channels 1-7 to separate exclusive strings (channel 1 = string 1, channel 2 = string 2, etc.) Great if you're using a guitar controller!
* PORTAMENTO SPEED: Vary the length of the portamento slides from 25% to 400%.
* PITCH BEND RANGE: Go nuts with pitch bending by setting the range all the way up to a full octave (previously, it was a mere 2 semitones!)
* NEW 'SMOOTH' VIBRATO TYPE: For seamless vibrato with total control using with the modwheel (and NO phasing), we've added this 4th vibrato type to accompany our fingered + whammy recordings.
* FRET RESET TIME: Freely define the wait time for when the virtual hand lifts up from its current position after you've finished playing your last note. Another way to customize Shreddage 2 to your playing style!
* PORTAMENTO VOLUME REALISM: A switch that enables realistic fading of portamento volume; for example, when playing a note and immediately sliding, the volume level will be greater than sliding after 5-10 seconds of sustain.
* EXTRA PICK LENGTH: Controls the length of the optional extra pick attack sound. The pick attacks themselves were in Shreddage 2.0, but previously had a static length.
* TOGGLE PALM MUTE RELEASES: Don't want finger release noise after palm mute articulations? Well, now you can disable it!
* TRANSPOSE: Transposes entire instrument up or down up to 12 semitones. Useful for creating quick harmonies on a second track or changing the key of your piece.
* RELEASE NOISE MIN / MAX THRESHOLD: With these controls, you can define a min/max range (in milliseconds) where release noises will play. For example, you might not want releases to play after extremely short or long notes, or perhaps you ONLY want them to trigger on notes of a certain length.
* NEW RELEASE + PICK SAMPLES: We took the original sample pool of finger + pick noises, and then we doubled it.
* NEW FX SAMPLES: Tons of new FX recordings to really spice things up and add extra flair to your riffs. Over 70+ in total!
* NEW PRESET SYSTEM: Customize a patch to your taste, then Save it as an NKA preset file anywhere on your computer. Load it from any other instance in any other project to restore your settings!
* Various bug fixes and tweaks to existing controls (i.e. legato settings) to enable greater customization and realism!

Yes you should, though I did try to name the new patches so there wouldn't be conflicts.

ok so Shreddage 2.1 Patch\2.1 FX Patch displace the old patches in the instruments folder?
