MuLab 6.0.35 released

The main window of most OSX apps cannot be dragged under the toolbar which runs across the top of the Mac screen. The MuLab window CAN be dragged under it. When this happens it hides the close, minimize and maximize buttons, and hides the top bar which one must click to drag the window back down again, so the window becomes stuck there.

Note that you can always [Alt]+click-drag the borders of a mu-window so to move it, so even in the case you described you can still move it.

Wow! Now that's a good dealmutools wrote:If you already have a M5 UL user key, it will be below 20 euro.sl23 wrote:Do you have any idea on a price yet for M6? just wanted to start saving my pennies!
If that's the case I may well donate a bit extra cos I think you are doing such a great job with MuLab! Thanks Jo
No problem, not right time at mo anyway.mutools wrote:Thanks for your suggestions sl23. For now i'll keep things as is. Maybe i'll reflect on it again lateron.sl23 wrote:This is where I think a single option for export would be better...

I don't suppose you could add option to disable Rack colours? I prefer them to have just the TitleBar coloured, looks far neater I think.mutools wrote:Will be tuned in the next M6.0.23.robbluda wrote:Waveform shape of the OSC in MuSynth is not directly editable? When I tried it, it shows me a dialog for selecting preset. This is different than in version 5.5.2 ...
The next M6.0.23 also subtly colored tracks and racks even when not focused cfr the below screenshot. So focused track and rack still stand out, but others are still subtly colored. Hope you like it.
Another Rack issue, when Racks are open and extend beyond right screen edge I would expect Hover to focus and Scroll to then move along the available Racks, but it doesn't, should it do so or would this be considered a request? ... Actually, just noticed it does if Cursor is over Scrollbar, hmmm...

Really?! Amazing how tastes can differ. Said with respect.sl23 wrote:mutools wrote:The next M6.0.23 also subtly colored tracks and racks even when not focused cfr the below screenshot. So focused track and rack still stand out, but others are still subtly colored. Hope you like it.

Well i'll add a preference for that. Note that this will also disable the subtle track coloring then, only the focused track will be colored like in the version you have now.
Mouse wheel scrolling for the rack desk is explicitly disabled in the zone where the volume faders are. The obvious reason for that is that if you are scrolling and you would accidently hover a volume fader you would unintendedly change your mix! Hope this explains it.Another Rack issue, when Racks are open and extend beyond right screen edge I would expect Hover to focus and Scroll to then move along the available Racks, but it doesn't, should it do so or would this be considered a request? ... PS: I've added this info to the M6 docs, which are in the making.

Fantastic! Thanks for adding that Jo
I do think it looks tidier without the extra colouring and although highlighted, I personally find it harder to make out easily which is the highlighted track amongst all the colours. When only one is highlighted it's much easier and faster to locate. Anyway, very much appreciated.
As regards the Racks, I thought as much, oh well, that's a bit of a quandary, not really any way around that one.

Well to be honnest i expected that some of you would like to have control over it, at least the intensity. So the preference actually is an intensity control expressed in percent and when set to zero it's disabling the effect. So you can still choose to have it, if u would want, but more subtle than the screenshot i posted.sl23 wrote:Fantastic! Thanks for adding that Jo

The way around is litteral: Make sure you use the mouse wheel above or below the zone that contains the pan knobs and volume faders. As regards the Racks, I thought as much, oh well, that's a bit of a quandary, not really any way around that one.

Re Colour: Cool, even better.
Re Racks: I see, not so bad. Just a minor thing here, sorry to be picky, not really something that requires attention, but the scroll doesn't work on the level of the [M|S] Buttons which are below the fader! It's ok though cos at least I don't have to move mouse to near bottom of screen to scroll Racks. Dunno why I didn't notice that before?!
btw, the word is 'lateral' not 'litteral'

More specifically it is the zone that contains the mixer strip which is pan knobs + volume fader + level meter + [M] buttons. Hope that explains it.sl23 wrote:Just a minor thing here, sorry to be picky, not really something that requires attention, but the scroll doesn't work on the level of the [M|S] Buttons which are below the fader!

- May have found something minor...
I have an audio file in the compose section and I wanted to fade out the end of it.
I noticed that the fade out curve area says "Fade In Curve" in the pop up text.
(pic is attached)
In the pic the Fade Out level is 3, but the Fade Out Curve says "Fade In Curve"...
Also had a related question... will we be able to drag samples into a vst (Kontakt) from the compose section and also from the sample browser on the right at some point?
I tried to drag a sample for the right browser into a Kontakt instrument, but it didn't let me. It only allowed me to drag it to the Compose section...
Would this have more to do with Kontakt instead of Mulab?
Btw this is a great update... !!! still getting used to everything tho.
Thanks

I see, will be fixed, thanks. If you already have an M5 UL user key, then mail me your real name and you'll get a free upgrade to M6.bbreakz wrote:I have an audio file in the compose section and I wanted to fade out the end of it.

MuLab has to instanciate a drag-drop to the outside world, which is not yet supported. It's on the wishlist, but no idea when this will be implemented. I'm sure you know you can also get it in Kontakt by saving the sample and then dropping that file onto Kontakt, it's just a step extra. Also had a related question... will we be able to drag samples into a vst (Kontakt) from the compose section and also from the sample browser on the right at some point? What are the difficult points getting used to?Btw this is a great update... !!! still getting used to everything tho.

Hi Jo,
Really like the interface. Good news that upgrade will be circa Euros 20 as I just bought MuLab 5 UL last month!
Checking the Menubar Compose/Edit/Modular buttons there seems to be an inconsistency - toggling highlighted 'COMPOSE' or 'EDIT' seems only to remove button highlighting, with no other effect, whereas toggling highlighted 'MODULAR' button moves you to 'COMPOSE' mode. Minor issue but a niggly one! (Version 6.0.21)
Cheers
