Your keyboard solo has to be hot...
Uhh... hasn't that ALWAYS been a requirement? (And the hair)

Err... dammit you guys and that synth, making me want to go find my windows laptop to play with it... wait, no I really just hate windows. :)

TOTALLY UNRELATED:

Anyone tried any of the KVRDC plugins/apps yet?

After the TAL Bassline OSC last month, this one looks super flexible!! :)

Not sure many of the other things look particularly interesting to me, but I probably missed the good ones skimming them...

EDIT: a vladg/sound plugin is always exciting! :)

Bit of a pita to assign all the controls as it's via reaper menu selection, but saved it as a track template so all good.
Hey, good to know. Thanks!!
Track template. Track template. D'OH!! Why didn't I think of that. .. Why don't I use track templates!! DUH!! :dog:
Thanks much man!! :tu:

ARP - Never Knowingly Understated

Having a few technical difficulties at the moment ... but if this is the Arp demo record I think it is, you better brace yourselves:

Hey guys, I think I'm going to have to sit this one out this month. Looks like a cool synth, though! I may still vote on it. I'll be back soon. Have fun with ODSAY!

Great!!!

Don't forget to share here: https://soundcloud.com/groups/kvr-one-synth-challenge
I think I am going to add some more stuff to the track. Do I just delete the old one and share the new one when it's ready? As far as I know, I cannot replace the track with an updated one without a soundcloud pro account, right?
Exactly, you have to delete it if you don't have pro account.
Therefore, you will lost your comments, plays and downloads.

Good luck and have a nice day :)
It's a bit of a bummer but hey, nothing I can do about it.

Just replaced the track with the newer version. Hopefully doctorbob and MTLE will be kind enough to listen to this new one and leave some comments again :)

Track URL is the same as before:

https://soundcloud.com/sir_ken/the-odsay

Here is the plugin instance count:

40x Elektrostudio ODsay
2x Ambience
22x MEqualizer
17x MCompressor
4x ReaDelay
23x piz MidiNotestoCC
6x piz MidiPolyphony

Some more interesting tidbits:

Drums have anywhere from 3 to 6 layers, that are activated through different midi tracks. I also had to double the drum tracks to achieve proper duophony at the very least. The timpani-ish roll was bounced to audio, so that I can have more drum hits while it's playing in the background. The total instances of ODsay used for the the percussion is 19.

I remember when I had hair ... very long + beard ... a bit "Laughing Cavalier" style. Played support to the likes of Caravan, Hatfield & the North etc ... well, I was on the desk, but I made an electronic intro (on tape) to which the band came onto stage, one at a time, and each took over a "part" of the piece until all were on stage and playing. Made using the Synthi-A (sadly no AKS, the sequencer), plus home made fx (eg spring reverb, a phaser which used a lightbulb and photoresister to do the LFO!). Did all sorts of nasty feedback tricks on the Synthi. One neat trick was to take the output from the OSC3 (lfo), and route it back into the box. The input was an inverter, so you could derive a second LFO waveform, but 180 degrees out of phase from the source waveform.

Oh! Nostalgia rules! Must get on with my piece though ...

I know i know, but the new people need to be reminded of this because disqualification or even ...... worse could happen - especially if the hair is not up to standards.

Will do ... need to find a little time to have another good listen

... and Brian, does a shiny patch on top and hair to shoulders still count??? Or do I get disqualified ;-) Mind you, most of the musos I knew way back then are probably in the same boat. Talking of hair again, I remember seeing Elton John at about 2am in 1969 in the cobbled courtyard of the King's Manor in York (under a marquee, of ocurse!), he started his soundcheck (voice, piano, bass and drums) at about midnight - his poor roadies and soundfolk were running round like headless chickens! Nothing changes I guess.

Pink Floyd in a college dining room was different? Oh oh, there I go again, remembering ...

THAT I would have liked to see... Not much for a lot of 'classic rock' era stuff, but I do love some Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin :)
