So this is why the man in the picture is raising his hand with the number "5"?

I checked out the video effects, I wouldn't say they were interesting.

Could be, but the thing is it's open, meaning everyone can contribute to it (well everyone who knows about coding), so I definitely expect ineteresting things coming later on.

According to www.sonicscoop.com (http://www.sonicscoop.com) (who just posted a video interview with Reaper's original creator) Reaper 5 is due for release tomorrow (12th Aug 2015). No details on Reapers website at the time of writing this though.

Really hoping for Mp4 export and maybe some form of score editing/support. Also would be nice to see if Waves would finally offer support for their plugins for Reaper (Come on Waves! Even the BBC use Reaper for some of their work!!!!)

Great interview. I think one of the main reasons i like Reaper so much, is because for me, the 'Product > Money' comes through.

Avast just gave me a warning about some malware in the sites content (subdomain) the guy linked to, so beware before you click that link... site seems legit, but there was some ad/whatever site which made Avast jump up.

Thanks man. :tu: Could well be a Avast error, the site sure seems legit.

Nice video, thanks. I'm surprised he didn't ask a single question about Reaper 5.

It's interesting how you see pictures of people for years and later when you hear them speak they almost never sound (voice wise) like you would have guessed.

You'd think they could've picked a quieter room to do the interview. The acoustics might have been great for gargantuan drums, but definitely not a great interview room. Other than that, great youtube watch while picking my nose.

Thanks for the link, nice interview!

Exactly! It works the same in the other direction as well :hihi: People who are born blind and then gain sight twenty-something years later due to advances in science must have one hell of a surprise streak.

Yesterday, I've stumbled upon a (not gonna provoke an argument) anonymous DAW that had custom skin that looked like Santa's butt and it costed half of the standard Reaper licence :tu:

Was a bit worried to see the interview as sometimes I have a hard time to use software if the creator/s are dicks independent if the software is good or not as I see the persons face in my mind every time I use the software later!
Luckily I can continue to use Reaper as the guy seems like a great guy!

Seriously? I mean, yeah, Justin seems a very nice guy, but i couldn't care less about the people who wrote the software, if the software suits me. Reaper never did and never will, no matter what nice of a guy Justin Frankel is. Tbh i find some of his views a bit naive, and only possible if you have a sh**load of money, and don't have to care about your income. But hey, it's cool that rather sitting on an island sipping his cocktail his goal is to make software he's convinced of, so kudos to him. :tu:
