But then I will get problems with the GUI of other VSTs i am working with, and FX plugs becoming too big for the screen...spacekid wrote:It may make sense to take down the resolution of your monitor. I just took mine down a notch and I couldn't be happier.

I'm at 1920x1200. I can read the GUI fine, but it is among the smallest of the GUI's of the plugs I am using, it is about the same size as Rhino2
Obviously screen and resolution is just gonna get bigger and more refined, it would have been good when ST3 was made that the programmers would take into account "how will the screens be 5 years from now", or to make one small and one big GUI choice

Does it convert/copy to another folder? I have ST2, SS2 and some libraries installed, around 20GB stuff. I don't have much space left on the same HD, if it copy to new folder after converting then I will have to plan.Numanoid wrote:It is quite easy, just point ST3 to the legacy lib you want to import and it will do it, takes less than a minute for the the libs I have imported like Cinematik Collection, or Vocal Collection.keyman_sam wrote:Damn..I thought it would natively just cover the ST2 libraries. Guess it is a whole different format

It does make new copies, and it's been reported that some sizes increase. Best plan seems to be to copy a library and then delete the old one and just do each as you go.satYatunes wrote:Does it convert/copy to another folder? Yes, it converts the files to a copy, so it eats HDD space if you want to keep ST2 and ST3 on the HDD, and use the libs in both of themsatYatunes wrote:Does it convert/copy to another folder? On top of that SampleTank libs are some of the most bloated, they usually compress 60% when packed.
So they are HDD guzzlers for sure.
I would have hoped that IK came out with a lossless audio packing format when moving from ST2 to ST3 but that didn't happen

@spacekid, @numanoid - thank you. I will delete after conversion. I have no plan to keep both st2 and st3.
