I think Rhino2 is way better than Sytrus, period.

Post

Now people. I believe it's possible to discuss Rhino vs. Sytrus while still respecting the kvr etiquette, but somewhere along the way some of us got carried away. So please go read the kvr rules and then get back if you're willing to stick to these. Otherwise, find yourself another place to continue your puerile fighting.
Thanks,
'Tick

hey Tick, I hope I didn't have any personal pops at anyone personally, only a company.

I have only said that apart from thinking Rhino blows Sytrus away in sound and ergonomics (I have tried both demo's)the customer interaction and support is just as major a part.

Couldn't agree more, Tick ......
Let's not forget that both synths are great sounding instruments and its interesting to discuss them. Well, its interesting to discuss them in a friendly manner :-)

Post

morality: rhino 2 is much better than sytrus because:

-big tick is a nicer guy than we are

-windows make clicks when dragging accross dual screens in FL

-blade runner 2 would.. oops wrong thread

Big Tick wrote:Well, nasty aggressive sounds are definitely possible with Rhino too. It's just that I haven't programmed many of these yet, mainly because my tastes go towards metallic, spooky ambient pads. However, there's a DX7-II bank under construction, with hard screaming leads. And there's the upcoming moog banks by Daniel, these will blow your ears off - he will have mp3's demos available soon.

Hi 'Tick, you're a moderator. As a multiple Big Tick user I'd like to request you close this thread or see if you can get it put on the instrument board as most of the content has nothing to do with your synths.

From this go about it comes down to this. If IK disagreed with GOL they'll deal with it. I think Sytrus is small too and would like to see the virtual knobs arranged differently, perhaps simply adding a matrix look to give a better feeling of adjusting what and where. Also, it seems FL has it's great synth. It's nice they've chosen to make it available to those that like it. If only Synapse or the Props would do the same with their great synths, Ultran and Maelstrom.. But they haven't.

'Tick, I just went OT too and that's the nature of one of these threads even when started with good intentions. Let people thrash it out should they choose in the instrument forum. This is a misplaced post to begin with.

anything that has "vs" in it is probably going to cause problems. I'm vastly more interested in reading about Rhino 2, Angelina and Angelina Effect and for that matter Rainbow 2 and whether you killed it with Rhino. :P

I'd like to see you take Rainbow further in it's multiple synthesis form and while Rhino has finally and deservedly been a hit for you it's time for you to get back to making new stuff. I'm quite addicted to your synths and prefer you working on new stuff, resting and enjoying the afterglow of a new release and then getting back to work!

Question, is there going to be further development on Angelina? I hope so. I still use it although other synths can do similar things. That you have obviously built upon your core code since it's release and I'm sure you could do some incredible things.

If I had stock in your company we wouldn't let you up for air other than weekends and vacations. :)

And your big ego thinks that Sytrus is better just because you have made it.

Sorry, but that's not enough to convince me. I checked both, and I like Rhino2 better. Deal with the fact that some people might not like your productions, or get lost.

that's cool, but why not tell why?

I can come up with facts, that is, features that it does and Rhino doesn't. If it's about the sound, then it's more a question of presets.

well I do deal with it, as I said I don't give a shit if a lot of people don't like the UI. I just don't like misinformation to be spread about the synth, especially when it comes up to the features that Sytrus is said not to support, or simply that is has less of them.
