It may prove a good strategy to emulate 100%, sound and look of an original copy. None of the 106 variants made me hang around as much as the model 84, so there is smth the other missed modeling. The photorealistic textures and lighting (including dents scratches, spots, in a tasteful amount) helps with immersion. When us, vst buyers are mostly collectors
, these models are definitely appealing.

Yes, I also stated in the survery that I'm for realistic feature set, apart from some modern and comfort features, like Aftertouch etc. I'm much more in a realistic feature set of an emulation than expanding the feature set to unrecognizability. That misses the point IMO.

New sound is an illusion in my opinion, as long as you stick to subtractive or analog drum synthesis.Vortifex wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 11:22 amTo be honest I'd rather see their own Softube-quality take on a new 3-osc polysynth to rule them all. Or a new and unique electronic drum synth.

Arguable. TBH, I was a bit disappointed about it. I like the sound of the Virus in the Motorola DSP emulation better. I didn't make a side by side comparison, just judging by my impression when I demo'd it.Vortifex wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 11:22 am Out of that list I'd prefer the Polivoks, as it's not been done to death. Adam Szabo has already got the Virus covered.

And it's flowstone with all it's quirks.
Nothing against Adam, but even the sale price now is too steep for me.

Exactly. I've given them this answer in their questionaire.Vortifex wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 10:30 am What I really want from Softube is for them to trash that godawful preset system.

I'd be happy with that as well, as long as it's relatively comprehensive, not a simple synth.
