Wow @fb, great track. I think Ozone 8 Elements was available free as a time limited download or with other offers.
I am not sure it's allowed in the "free" category. I would hate this track to be DQ'd - I'm sure you can fix up a mastering chain to substitute for Ozone ...
If I am wrong, then I'm sure someone will chime in ...
Cheers

Absolutely !
I'm sure you're right on everything but being sure: Ozone 8 Elements is not freeware.doctorbob wrote: Fri Apr 22, 2022 4:03 pm I think Ozone 8 Elements was available free as a time limited download or with other offers.

FWIW, iZotope freebees are ( atm) : Imager & Visual Mixer ( suitable for OSC ) + Vocal Doubler & Vinyl ( no go. )

My project now uses my go-for mastering plug-in LoudMax64 instead of the Ozone thingy. I replaced the track on SoundCloud and edited my original post above. Anyway, new link here:

Isn't it funny that the freeware guy almost failed because of payware?

Now you won't be DQ'd!!! My chain is SlickEQ for any final broad brush EQ-ing, Ferric for some tape sat (just a tad!), MSED for mid/side enhancement, Limiter no.6 for crunch etc! and LoudMax64 at the end.

Haven't done this in a long long time. Here we go:
DAW - Logic Pro
11 instances of MG-1
Fx - Logic built-in Space Designer, Tape Delay
My ode to 70s cheesy (but awesome) space music.

Happens in Ableton too, there is a switch above the ext sync switch called "auto contour trigger". Set that to out, and it wont play all by itself. For some reason, the sound/sync changed a bit when i set mine there, so I set it back and have to automate mutes on the mixer.ontrackp wrote: Sun Apr 03, 2022 3:18 am I'm having an issue when the LFO is ext sync mode, even when Logic is stopped, it continues to send sync, which in turn is triggering the LFO, which is triggering a note. Could be a logic setting that I can't find (I'm seeking advice on that) but I've never encountered this behavior on another synth when syncing lfo rate to the DAW. Does this happen with other DAW's?

A quick note to newcomers ... with your posting could you please include details of your DAW, how many instances of MG-1 and any FX used - as per the rules (please read). You can edit your post!!!
It just gives everyone some idea of how you went about creating your track, and might also help if the track needs to be reviewed (rare occurrence!).
Sorry to be a bore, but it's nice to see many newcomers and hope you will stay for future challenges - the next synth is announced on 1st of the month.
Also, do not forget to vote when voting opens at the end of this month - a link will be provided on the first page when the title says "Voting Open". You will need to give a score of 1-5 for every track or else you will be disqualified (harsh I guess, but it's there to make sure everyone gets a fair set of votes).
Good luck all, lots of good tracks already in - I expect a couple more dozen in the next week.

Welcome! OSC can be a great way to really dig into a synth.Hans45 wrote: Fri Apr 22, 2022 2:48 pm Here is my small contribution. I had that synth in my collection for months, but hadn't take the time to really discover it.
Then you'll fit right in with the rest of us hobbyists.I'm only a hobbyist, please don't shoot...![]()
It looks like NastyDLA MkII is a chorus/echo/tape delay? Chorus is not permitted under the rules, but if you're just using it as an unmodulated delay or tape compression/saturation effect it should be fine. Also this is my first KVR Contest participation. Please tell me if there is anything wrong, thank's !

Everyone here is a hobbyist. I don't think anyone is a "professional musician". We are just here to have a challenge, and for many, some impetus to actually write something and see it through to the end! Good, bad or downright ugly!!!FrogsInPants wrote: Sat Apr 23, 2022 1:25 pm Then you'll fit right in with the rest of us hobbyists.

I haven't even once left a post in this thread? Woooot!
Well, anyway, was going to say: MG-1 is pretty darn fantastic sounding! It took me a moment to adjust my thinking to this little piece of excellent madness, but the beautiful quality of the sound totally kept me at it. At first I thought percussion could get tough, but it can produce amazing percussion, too.
I hope, I'll have enough time to finish a track, but what I've started is pretty exciting to me. Above all else, it's because I've dared to use Cubase for the first time for an OSC track and really just the second time for any kind of track. I still love MuLab in will always stay faithful to it, but hey... ...I'm gonna have me a little adventure.
Some pretty cool tracks in here already! Something tells me, this will be an intense voting session. Let's see if this one may break the record in amount of tracks? I don't even know what the record has been?

First time here, all the way from a Cherry Audio newsletter! Definitely want to give this thing a go. I've had this synth since it came out but never actually used it in anger (buying Cherry Audio synths is nearly a reflex action for me...) I've started on a track and the MG-1 is superb! Already looking forward to next month's OSC.

I don't know what the record is, but the most I can remember was #142 (Vital) with... <looks up the scoresheet> 61. I don't know if we'll pass that number, but it should be an exciting round with so many new participants.Taron wrote: Sat Apr 23, 2022 6:19 pm Some pretty cool tracks in here already!
