Try the 'lead' preset 'Bass Bomb Drone', its heavy enough in 1x mode, but 2x oversampling makes it hit the CPU limit for me, and 4x is just glitch noise. Nothing to do with the volume/limiter control in that case, either.
Also, any CPU dropout like this seems to trigger a bug that causes the demo white noise to play permanently.

Just purchased along with ABL3. My Thanksgiving gift to myself. Maybe the best $125 I've spent all year.

oh yeah there are 2 issues, high CPU usage (in a single DAW thread) is obviously a thing too.NikkiA wrote: Wed Nov 23, 2022 12:29 pm Try the 'lead' preset 'Bass Bomb Drone', its heavy enough in 1x mode, but 2x oversampling makes it hit the CPU limit for me, and 4x is just glitch noise. There weren't any fans in the CS-80, the only thing under the ventilation grills were the power transformer and voice boards, as seen here:Tj Shredder wrote: Wed Nov 23, 2022 7:39 amEspecially the heat grid seams weird on a fanless M2. Did they emulate the fan sound as well? To be accurate with all the stuff you didn‘t want to have back in the days…Arashi wrote: Wed Nov 23, 2022 6:45 am Why not just drop the keyboard and other decorative areas that just waste screen space so the usable controls can be made larger?

The GX-80, like the CS-80 and GX-1, is a semi-deep instrument with an unusual approach to synthesis. In addition, it has its on sound. It doesn't approach editing like a normal synth, at least at first glance. The CS-80 layout is a little odd at first glance. Why have a global control for filters that effects the synth sections Filters? Why call the synth section a "Rank Voice Parameters" section? It's going to take some time to learn.
I had to watch the video, and consult the manual. And I'll probably need to do that some more. This is a emulation of one of the most historical synths ever. For me, it is worth the effort. I get it that this synth is not for everyone. Synthwave people should love it, but I can't really see it much for some other styles of electronica.
If you study the presets I think you'll begin to see how it works. Or you can start with a initialized preset are see what happens. For me, those sliders are asking to be moved. Another help for me was when I saw that the orange sliders are specific to the GX1. If you are looking for more of a CS-80 sound, ignore those.

Maybe the continuing noise is something to do with your system, which you didn't describe.
I didn't notice anything like that during a hour's demo yesterday, iMac 2019, 10.14.6 Mojave in Live 11.2. Today I bought it without further ado, so…

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

A fantastic Synth by Cherry Audio. The GX-80 is imho. the best sounding synth I purchased in the last two years. I love it.
I just wish it was more CPU efficient. Hopefully Cherry Audio can significantly improve its efficiency via updates. Otherwise this is a miraculously awesome synth to use.

yes - i can replicate - even after a few minutes by doing this:wwjd wrote: Wed Nov 23, 2022 11:33 pm so, in the demo, after the 3rd NOISE RUSH, it continues indefinitely? That's sort of annoying.
had it open 5 minutes, and had to restart
switchin oversampling brings up the noise more often and frequently
and
if i switch oversampling while the noise is on, the the chances are quite good, that it will become permanent...

Wait a second. GentleClockDivider is saying that Aphex Twin called him immediately after a Cherry Audio synth announcement to talk about how it doesn't sound accurate to one of his synths that they didn't directly emulate, but just stole some features from? Or is this a strange joke where I'm not getting the punchline?
